HAND CANNONS: The weapons many players use, but few can master. This video highlights 5 of the most important tips for improving your hand cannon shot and overall performance inside of Destiny 2 PvP. Hand Cannons are currently BY FAR the most dominant primary weapon type in the game, making up 8 of the 10 top primary weapons in PvP. The tips in this video will hopefully enable you to perform even better in the current sandbox, but even if hand cannons get a massive nerf, a player who is able to take full advantage of the tips in this video will still find hand cannons to be quite effective; even during the height of the 600 and 450 RPM Auto Rifle metas, hand cannons were still powerful in the right hands.

It's really cool you don't cut your deaths. Helps understand the game flow and consequences easier.

Simply listen to big iron while you play. You’ll get there in no time
  • Awesome video and breakdown. These tips are going to help a lot of players! I totally agree with the strengths of HCs in point 1. It’s the reason HCs will always be strong

As a console player, I've found there is kinda a lack of top tier controller players making content that talks about controller recoil management/hand cannon info. This video is greatly appreciated!

what i’ve learned in the past and typically applies here as well is the person hiding behind cover to peek out has the advantage by being able to start the engagement on their timing. the person who isn’t doing it has the advantage of being able to position wherever, so when the person peeks they may not know where and could get the first shot. pretty good stuff to know

As a console player who is trying to snipe and hand cannon your videos are a god send. Thank you sir

2:10 : This is why hand cannons will always be on top no matter what nerfs bungie throws at them. Bungie: We'll see about that... *malicious laughter

This helped tremendously! I've been massively guilty of panicking and rushing my shots all this time. It's like, in the back of my mind I knew that was the wrong approach but having it explained as concisely as you did here and having the visual along with it really helped me to actually put it into practice. I sat down yesterday and made an effort to put it into practice. I made the effort to take my time with my shots and not rush them or panic in engagements and I had some of the best rounds I've ever had. I threw my igneous on and had some of the most consistent rounds I've ever had! Great video man. Massive help!

8:27 I just gotta point this out: your aim is so awesome you can snap it away and back again so fast it is amazing!

Yes yes yes!!!! As someone who is crossing the barrier of being a semi casual crucible player these are the tips I wish I knew. Tip three is something that took a lot of observation from me when watching good players while in their streams, but TAKE THE TIME! Calm down, breath, and take the shot. It’s the same for shotgunning (reloading, distance, etc.). Boy, I get annoyed when really good PVP players give advice but it just sounds like “get gud” to the casual player. Thanks for sharing, definitely sharing to friends who want to get better!

I agree 100% peek shooting will always keep HC strong regardless of the meta, so long as they don’t bring ghost bullets back from D1 😰 haha - great video Shadow!

Thank you SO MUCH for making ths video. I've played Destiny since season of the Forge and I've never been able to use a hand cannnon effectively in PvP. The difference in my PvP gameplay before and after watching this video is a large as the time before and after I learned how to use the radar.

A good thing to mention with the unconventional angle part is the importance that audio takes, you can easily hear someone jumping when they try to do that
  • @abyss5600
One way I've found to help improve you aim is to go into a private mayhem match as a deadfall nightstalker, and shoot a tether at a random spot. Then, use that as a target
  • I'm a returning player so I'm here, lol. I remember mastering Hand Cannons to get Thorn... such a nostalgic time. It was also the time I finally got Recluse after so much grinding. Very helpful video, Shadow, thank you!

Ay bro, great video man, appreciate the content. Heard you shout this outline stream last night and I was ecstatic, keep it up.
  • @endless2243
Thank you, this is really helpful and insightful, especially the segment about shot pacing, I’ve always found it hard to explain this to newer players, but you nailed it perfectly. I’ll be sharing this video with my clan
