It’s FINALLY time to ride the world famous Moab masterpiece they call Mag 7 to Portal. Can it really live up to the hype?

Abso-freakin-lutely. This is probably my favorite ride of all time now - EVEN WITH the 16 miles of semi-snoozefest leading up to the main event. My skills are finally perfectly aligned to have an amazing time on this wild ride.

Portal is rated a “Pro Line” on Trailforks, but that just seems to be from the two really silly spots where people try and die. One looks impossible, the other looks totally doable. We rode Rockstacker & Jackson’s the next day (which will be on the MTBING Adventures channel tomorrow) and the technical moves were much more intimidating and nasty than Gold Bar Rim + Portal.

  • I couldve gotten down that so much faster than you. Cause I would've fell right off the edge. 😂 Beautiful place.

I'm not sure if I'm more impressed about his riding skills or that the bike survives this torture. But I'm definitely impressed by him not being scared to death when going along the cliff!
  • @mho...
as crazy as it is to drive down there, im mostly impressed that there was someone before this, finding, marking, building, trying the trail! ...deep respect to the pathfinders!

Scarier than any horror movie for those of us afraid of heights, lol. Amazing, you guys are insane.

OH MY GOD! I couldn’t even watch the whole video, it scared the hell out of me. I wouldn’t even walk half of those trails. Balls of steal dude.

I rode Portal in about '98. I think back then, you rode up the atv slicrock trail, Poison Spider, then down Portal. Once I walked past the 'death' spot, I had one of the most amazing rides in over 30 years of mt biking. I couldn't believe how dialed and in the zone I was as I ripped down all that rocky stuff. To this day, not sure what got into me, but my steel hardtail and I felt like world cup champs.

I almost sh!t my heart out when you dropped off that rock ledge (16:50) and rode straight ahead and came to a dead stop on another kill you ledge. Awesome!

Man, for a recreational MTB rider like me, this looks like near-death experience every moment! I am impressed!

Four of us rode the Portal trail by Full moon with no front lights, 2 of us had tail lights so we rode following 2 red lights...this was NOT by choice the guide (a friend of a friend ) got us lost and we got caught out..... a 9am start we should have been done by 2....luckily we had food and water just never thought we would need lights...it was the most amazing and scary ride of my life and something i do not recommend doing but i'll never forget it !!!

The fact that you were that many miles in before you reached Portal, then dominated it that hard, and said you didn't see how that was an expert line while going through that level of jank Blows My Mind!
  • @MikeinCC
I must've said "you gotta be joking" to myself at least a dozen times in this video. MAJOR KUDOS Brian!!
  • @michaelm1861
11:20 - I was literally sitting in my chair leaning away from the edge of the cliff!!! This man is out of his gourd...I LOVE IT!!!
  • @alexis1959
Insane riding - I was glued to the screen for the entire trail. You have become one AMAZING rider Brian. I'm speechless. Please warn people that try to emulate you how thin the line is between death and having an epic time. Kudos.
  • @domfluin1819
Fair play, that was some hardcore riding. The exposure actually had me leaning on my sofa whilst watching 😀
  • OMG!!!!... scroll to 15:00 and see a real ride. My heart was at my throat. NO FREAKING WAY would I call this adventure. This is torture. You guys are NUTS!....BUT SUPER GREAT VIDEO. I FELT LIKE I WAS ON A RIDE. I was on the edge of my seat all the way. I knocked over a few books, papers and magazines while watching. I heard myself scream out loud a few times. MAY GOD SURROUND you boys with his SAFETY ANGELS. You are taking such huge risks. GOD BLESS YOU.

It’s amazing how crisp and clear the audio is while riding! And those GoPros are unbelievable!!
