The two teams facing off in Super Bowl 58 are now set, but before we move on to discussing that matchup, I felt that it was necessary to break down why the Lions couldn't advance past the 49ers.

It's certainly not simply based on a couple of aggressive fourth-down decisions by their head coach, which was actually a big factor in them even making it to the championship game, but rather a 15-minute stretch where everything went wrong for them!

    Not kicking the 2 field goals would have change the game. That late in the game get the points, especially if you think your defense can get the ball back.

    The first quarter was 15 minutes of Hell for 49er fans... I wish they would have called that Pass Interference on the Aiyuk catch so people would shutup about how it "should have been an interception" ... you're not allowed to just slow down as a DB to force the WR to collide into you so they are out of position. It's P.I.

    Did not mention a really bad mistake for the Lions: calling a timeout on offense at about 1-minute mark.

    Brock Purdy improvised when he had too and ultimately was the difference in the game.

    Of course can’t be 100% on this but I think Lions would have beat Chiefs.

    All the other stupid things Dan Campbell did and his players failed on can be forgiven except taking that time-out because he called a running play on third down with a minute and a half to go. That was the call that officially costed them the game. Relying on a on-side kick is a recipe for disaster. The defender on the big Aiyuk catch was Vildor. It was Gipson that caused the fumble not Dre. That punter was on his own 15 when he actually kicked it, lol. 85 yds in the air then dropped perfectly on the 1 and an idiot blows it.
