the "you BETRAYED me" is so powerful and amazing. really. the generic breakup song will focus only on the feeling of "i’m so sad i love u sm", but in reality after breakups ur more just like "why? why? why?!?" and she captured that SO well. i’m not a huge fan of american pop music, but i admire olivia so much. she’s so young, yet more talented than most artists out there.

I'm 55 years old. My teenage daughter played Olivia and I was struck by the raw vulnerability and honesty the she is able to pour into her music. After listening for a few months now, I can honestly say that even though I am from a whole different generation I am blown away as to how universal her music is. I can relate to the heartache she shares in her songs and it instantly brings me back over 30 years to my first real heartbreak. Only authentic music can do this. I look forward to watching Olivia continue to grow as an artist.

love the contrast between the friends having fun around her while she's so sad and heartbroken... that's truly what heartbreak can feel like. the whole world sparking, but you can't feel it because you're so numb.

Theory: When she jumps into the pool (2:40) it represents her metaphorically "jumping" into the relationship. She saw other people finding the love of their lives (2:31) and thought she would find the same. She also thought she would have her future with him, represented by the stars. (2:35) But then, when she actually jumped in, she found that she was alone and confined. (3:30). As a result, she closed the door on the relationship (3:46), representing her giving up a future with him.
