Fun fact: this game got an update to make it more “friendly” so in the parent’s room instead of blood being there there’s just huge claw marks and instead of a gun in the safe you get a slingshot that Ruby (the little girl) used to shoot at Mr. Hopp’s until her parents took it away (that’s why it was in the safe)but then you get it and shoot at him anyways.

The childhood "toy" that terrified me was a singing christmas tree that had eyes that would open up when someone got close and it would start singing.

I love how Mr. Hopps just gets worse and worse as you play through, at the star he actually looks like a toy, but by the end his eyes are endless void and his face is torn apart.

The wallpaper scare is so good, because the game teaches you that being behind a wall is safe-- until suddenly Mr. Hopp busts through the wallpaper and takes a swipe at you, destroying your illusion of safety, even if it's only for a moment. It's genius.
