This collab was SO GOOD. Suga approached Psy with the beat and wanted to produce for him and Psy gradually swindled him into featuring, performing, and being in the MV. Psy is a genius lol.

This kind of Kpop is what originally drew me to the genre, it's fun and joyful music. While the vast majority of musicians in the West are doing heavy and dark themes, Psy throws this bop and it reminds us that life can be fun.

but can we also appreciate how this man is 45 years old and still dances like a 25 year old AND is in great synchronization

The birds "photo bombed" the shoot at the best time. Suga and Psy's reaction to seeing the birds in the behind the scenes shoot was the best☺️💜

Fun fact: the birds in the back at 6:22 were unplanned, if you look at the behind the scenes video they had only noticed the birds after shooting that scene.

The moment I saw the choreo in this video I immediately thought of Jordan’s Dance Therapy. Kudos to Psy for wearing purple at the end. I’m sure that the BTS Army appreciated that little touch. The car in the video is the same as the one the Suga’s in, in Agust D’s “Daechwita” - I wonder what the symbolism around the car was for both Suga and Psy? Since Lumpens directed this video, I’m sure that it was no coincidence. It also felt like the song is the perfect continuation of Permission to Dance, which also had a Western motif, and took the concept from a post pandemic “mixer” to a full-blown post pandemic party. I love how Psy breathed in the fresh air at the start of the video. Despite the disparate story arcs it feels like Daechwita, Dynamite (the hand pistol “pah” that both Jimin and Psy did), Permission to Dance and That That told a really cohesive story of perhaps what the director was experiencing during the pandemic.

Imagine being PSY's dad. He must feel like an absolute fool. Sending him off the NYU, then saying he'll never achieve anything because he wants to get into music. Hit after hit, and an agency later, oof.

The fun thing was that the birds weren’t even planned they took a couple shots for that part and when PSY and the crew noticed the birds once the recording was done they kept that shot in 😭they were laughing and shocked

I LOVE Psy's whole attitude and performance style! I mean I could say that it was because he used to be in yg ent. but I think it's just him and his whole style. for a lot of people, psy was the first kpop song they technically heard (OPPA GANGNAM STYLE) WITHOUT THIS MAN KPOP MIGHT HAVE NOT BROKEN INTO THE WEST UNTIL LIKE...
