Here’s our review for the paid version but it also covers the free version of Asphalt 9: Legends on the Nintendo Switch. Gameloft certainly have the experience but can they back it up with a solid NIntendo Switch port? Let’s find out!

Club- Join the Asphalt 9 SwitchUp Club in game - search SwitchUp or SwitchUpM Hi guys - this review is for the PAID version that was available prior to launch. I might sound like i dislike the free to play model quite a bit...uhhmmm but I’ve tried to give a fair an accurate representation here. Let me know what you think of this one and check out GRID which is definitely a full featured racer without any extra...coins. GRid Review is here - https://youtu.be/gsN_udHM-YI . Thanks for watching as always we read EVERY comment. Patreons I’ll be announcing the winner by FRIDAY at the latest! Mark

I was really hoping they’d remove the fuel system for the Switch version, that’s a real turnoff for a console game. I’ll give this game a try eventually seeing how it’s a free game but I’m not in a rush.

Couldn't agree more with this review! They should have a paid version without all that F2P crap

“It’s like the old burnout games” I’m sold

this is a good game to play inbetween more solid long titles like the witcher 3 or dark souls

I gotta say this is really fun to play. I love how there single player modes in it along with the multiplayer. Grinding for cash and the premium currency can be somewhat of a problem but despite that I still feel this game is good. Also the graphics are in my opinion the best on the switch

I wouldn't really call it a paid version. It seems more like one of the standard introductory packs offered at the start of an F2P to get you invested in the microtransactions just bolted to the front of the game. I don't like pay to skip mechanics in general because they are the "solution" to a grinding problem that was deliberately engineered into the game in the first place. I'm tired of F2P store-fronts with incidental gameplay attached after being stung in the past for hundreds of pounds and will be sticking with real games from now on.

P2w take this from an experienced player of IOS some cars take 6 hours to refill and have just 3 fuels
  • @SkywardKing
This is exactly what I thought of this game. I would most definitely pay for a deluxe or premium edition of this game without all of the nonsense constantly trying to get into your pockets, because once you get racing it does have that Burnout vibe. Great review
  • @lockedlake
The progression system is quite intense! Thanks for all the details!
  • what keeps me hooked in this game is bc it looks like youll get the next car soon and even if itll take loads of time the races are amazing
  • @VortymLichbane
I recall deleting Asphalt from my mobile/tablet because of all the free to play stuff you mentioned. The racing itself is good but all the junk outside of that is a huge turn off. I just want to choose a car, choose a track and have a race.

Great review as always. I totally agree that Gameloft SHOULD strip all F2P aspects, especially that fuel/timer element. Hate them to the bone.

Android version veteran here, and the scene here is mad skilled, who knew a freemium game has so much depth in its driving mechanics you know what the pro players are doing. Seriously, go look up some of those best runs right here and YT, this game is something special, dare I say potentially legendary, if it weren't for its freemium and eventually brutal pay-to-play future
  • @duncanbowie1043
Burnout was super fun, but the pay to play model has me Burned out. Great review Mark!
  • @MobileDecay
I'm so glad this came out because it performs like shit on my smart devices and I love the gameplay. This runs and looks so much better on the Switch than anything I can run it on other than my pc. So glad I can finally enjoy this game. However I was hoping they would ditch the lootboxes for a price tag. ☹️
  • Please tell me this game doesn't have ads or video ads that interrupt the gameplay?
  • This is one of the few reviewers that I actually get real information from. Thank you for doing these.

Used to play this on my phone but i deleted it because it heats up my phone i would give it another try on the switch though it is free so why not?
