The song reminds me when I bought a new car. January 15th 1985. An '85 Camaro. It had 12 miles on it. When I turn on the radio, this was the first song that was playing. I'll never forget that.

Class of 1986 here. I remember listening to this going on a date with this cute redhead in high school. Still married to her 32 years later!

I was lucky enough to be 15 years old in the winter of 1985, in the 8th grade when I went and saw this movie with my girl friend. Before the movie started, I'd just wasted about $10 at the arcade trying to beat Mr Sandman on Punch-Out!! to no avail, so needless to say we didn't get any snacks at the show.  Very rarely has a movie and a song defined the teen generation of the time so perfectly like this did back in the mid 1980s.  Although I didn't know it then, it was a great time to be alive.

I'm 81 years young, and sometimes I forget about me, but I'm still able to keep Rocking mainly in my rocking chair. Love and peace from Australia 😎💕🎶🎵🎶🎶🎵

This 80's classic will NEVER DIE - Too good, classic 80's sound, nostalgic vibes, has come out in NUMEROUS movies. Over and out from a 45 year old that was a kid during that decade (born in 78). From what I remember, they were freaking awesome times.

the year was summer 1985. About to graduate from high school and spending my last days as a senior with friends on Senior Ditch Day in Santa Cruz, CA. On the long drive home this song came on and whenever I hear it today, that day and thoughts of my friends I spent that day with will always come to mind. Gosh I miss those times.

I was born in 97' and Im 17 now and I'm obsessed with the late 70s and 80s. I really can't stand my generation. Music and movies like this make me wish I was born in 1965 so I could have enjoyed my teenage years and early 20s in the 70s-80s bc it was such an amazing time. The fashion, the love, the music... It was a simpler time. A great time to live.
  • In 1985, I was 12 and my friend Eric, who was the same age, used to sing this song by heart. It was his favourite. Eric is no more. But he will remain in my heart forever. And this song, too. Reminds me of the good, good times we had. RIP my friend.

I'm 76 years old and proud to have been a part of that generation.

The 80’s was my most favorite time of my life. It’s like this music gave me a lift to go ahead and live my life. I’m 70 now. It’s still my daily uplift!!! ❤❤❤

A message to the future generations: Don't let this song die.

My boyfriend passed away 2 weeks ago. He really liked simple minds. So I felt the urge to play this right now. ❤ 😔

The Breakfast Club wouldn't be the same movie without this song.

    In the 80s I was in my 20s. I'm currently 62 & still loving this song.💕💕💕

"The Breakfast Club" is one of the greatest movies ever made.

As a 16 year old right now, I wish this was the 80s. I’d give up all my technology to go and live then.
