I remember 1984. The music was hit after hit after hit after hit all year long.

I was 16 in 1984...., ah the 80's... The. Best. Decade. Ever.
  • @Slimer316
1984 was an amazing year for music, movies, TV and pop culture in general
  • @deviltrigger85
I think everybody in the 80s just wanted to be free, have fun, and dance. Much happier times.

Wham! (George Michael), Cyndi Lauper, Prince, Journey (Steve Perry) - you could play those three artists catalog of music on a loop and I'd be fine, but throw in a little Bruce, Madonna, Kool & The Gang, Toto, Asia, Def Leppard, Hall & Oates, Culture Club, Whitney, and Queen (Freddie Mercury) - and well, I would never complain about what's on the radio!!!
  • ‘85 is my favorite year, but ‘84 was just incredible. The 80s: Lived ‘em. Loved ‘em. Miss ‘em. Put that on my tombstone: Nothing else.

In '84 I was 20 and had just put a custom show truck on the road in Toronto that summer. Cruisin' downtown Yonge St. on Friday and Saturday nights with some of these tunes cranked...it was the best summer of a lifetime.

I’m an 1984 high school graduate. Thanks for posting these wonderful songs that made me say, Oh yeah, I remember that song. 👩🏽‍🦱👍🏾🇺🇸

Used to ride the ferry in the Huey Lewis and the News video. Saw Duran Duran on that tour, saw The Pointer Sisters and Wham in Oakland either that summer or 1985. Must have been 1985. About wore out my Billy Joel cassette tape of An Innocent Man. For The Longest Time is my favorite song from that tape. Happy flashback, but Darn, I feel old all of a sudden.

How many fantastic songs in one year can there be!!!???? 80s were the best!
  • Some of the best music and movies are from the 80s, this is such an amazing list. Great collection of the music from the time when we were care free and had fun, people got together and enjoyed each other's company from all walks of life and we enjoyed it so much, went to clubs and hang out with friends. Beautiful collection.

I graduated HS in 1984. We were all listening to rock from the 60's and 70's. Still am.

Three words to describe the best thing about 1984: Tina Freakin' Turner! I love that lady.
