The U.S. East Coast: Florida - The Sunshine State

Published 2021-09-21
Nowhere is the American way of life as relaxed as on Florida's beaches. The Keys, a chain of islands at the far southern end of the state, reveal a more laid-back side of the USA. But all of Florida amazes -- with secluded beaches, unspoiled nature, and the legacy of the early European settlers.

  • I'm 60 and a Florida native. Twice in my life I've leisurely driven A1A with the (convertible) top down from one end of Florida to the other, about 20 years apart. Have no fixed schedule and be open to doing anything that catches your fancy. The key is to be super-relaxed and enjoy yourself.

Florida has a west coast too, and central Florida is a place all it's own.

Say what you want about Florida man, but Florida will forever be the hotspot for sunshine and beaches.
  • I met Mel Fisher when he and my grandfather ate lunch at the restaurant I was working at. He had the most beautiful emerald ring from one of his finding. Till this day I have never seen such a beautiful ring. What a pleasure

Imagine finding a treasure and then some stranger who wasn't even looking for it tries to steal it away. Vultures.
