Hydro Flask vs S'well | Which water bottle is better? | Sustainable Living

Single-use water bottles are one way I believe we are setting future generations up for failure. That is why I think a reusable water bottle made from sustainable materials belongs in the Legacy Goods bag and is essential for sustainable living.

In this video, I explore both Hydro Flask and S'well water bottles. I talk about what I love and don't love about each bottle, and the companies.

I also do an experiment to show which water bottle, Hydro Flask, or S'well stay cold longer.

Here are the links to all the items and information that I mention:

S'well is B Corp certified, Hydroflask is not. (Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose )

I like Hydroflask. They are based in Bend, have amazing leadership and an incredible culture. I use a hydro for my coffee, another for water, and another for ice cream- yes, ice cream!! I don't like melted ice cream and hydro is amazing and keeping it hard... ummm!!! ;)

I dropped my 16oz S’Well at Best Buy’s carpeted floor. Giant dent. Hydroflask had circular dent on the edge from bumping around. I can bend both bottles using both thumbs. Yeti however, I can’t bend with my thumbs. I haven’t dented my 36oz at work yet, and it’s a large bottle surface area for damage plus at a metal manufacturing area.

I like both of them equally. The Swell bottle is sleek, and fashionable. Hydro Flask bottles has a great variety in sizes with useful lids, durable.

I do love the powder coat finish on the hydroflasks much better than the finishes on the S'well bottles.

Personally S’well water bottles are the nice looking ones, while Hydros are more useful!

Although I love the design and triple insulation of the Swell, I have to go with Hydro Flask. I've had a Swell for about 8 years now and the lid is such a pain to clean that it grew mold; and I wash it every 2-3 days. There's really nothing that fits in the crevice of the Swell lid to fully clean it. I recently made the switch to Hydro Flask and it is so much better, especially with the Hydro Flask straw cleaning set. Ease of cleaning is something that is often overlooked when it comes to choosing a water bottle.
  • Good video. Would love to see you review klean kanteen water bottles and their company values.
