Unrelated, but you have beautiful eyes
  • JIMINS tatoo is in German by Austrian Poet Rainer Maria Rilke, from Das Studenbuch [Book of Hours] (1899-1903, published 1905) It says: Ich lebe mein Leben in wachsenden Ringen, die sich über die Dinge ziehn. Translated: I live my life in ever widening circles, each superseding all the previous ones. Perhaps I never shall succeed in reaching the final circle, but attempt I will. I circle around God, the ancient tower, and have been circling for a thousand years, and still I do not know: am I a falcon, a storm, or a continuing great song? His album face is a concept album based on circles of resonance in water as he reflects on his dark feelings and heavy drinking during his isolation during COVID.

Jimin has such a "pretty" voice I think everyone expects "ballad" but he is so versatile he is just showing everyone his talents are crazy

GB, you were missed!!! As many commentators have already said, Jimin’s solo songs are variegated but in all of them you can truly appreciate the uniqueness of his voice. If I may give you some background information that you have already correctly guessed: When BTS started as a group Jimin was portrayed as this manly member (probably because his hometown of Busan is inown for their 'manly man' in Korea), even his vocals were kind of pushed toward that kind of delivery and you can hear it in the group's first albums (2 cool 4 school, O!RUL8, 2!, Skool luv affair, Dark and Wild). It wasn’t until The most Beautiful Moment in Life that his true vocal began to show, but his final evolution happened for Wings. He opens the emblematic song Blood, Sweat and Tears with what would become pure Jimin magic: angelic vocals, graceful coreography, and a ridiculous dichotomy of sexy and sweet that very few can achieve. Because of this “change” in image he received a lot of bullying, and since then he has been the target of some of the most nasty side of K-pop: death threats, online harassing, cyber bullying, sometimes this would even happen when the group would go live and try to chat with ARMY. It is disgusting, and nobody deserves that kind of treatment, but specially someone like Jimin who has such a sweet and selfless personality. Anyway, this album feels like kind of a catharsis for him, but even during the definitive success that it was the powers that be (call it Billboard if you want) changed the rules (as they always do when BTS is breaking records) so Jimin’s #1 Song would drop abruptly during the 2nd week of tracking. ARMY learned from that experience and since then we have helped the other members have a more stable release of their solo albums/songs. 😅Sorry for diatribe, but maybe you actually get to read this and understand that even for ARMY this song was a surprise since IT IS hard, as you said, it feels more confrontational than what we expected from Jimin, and it was probably because he finally said enough is enough. If you want to checkout some other songs my recommendations would be: * Serendipity and Like crazy*

😂 😂 😂 I am here for everyone who noticed that Jimin effect kicking in at the second verse. 😂😂😂
  • @lyzzz_bsbts
Even armys were absolutely SHOOK when this dropped. Out of all the amazing music each of the members have dropped, this song is my top for sure

Welcome back! The tattoos on his chest are actually not CGI generated, they drew them on him. It's a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke, and the theme of the poem is well connected to the concept of the album. Everything in this song and video is well thought through and perfected to the tiniest detail.
  • @serendiphoria2
A masterpiece.. right? Jimin wrote the lyrics, he was involved in producing, involved in making the choreography, and every little thing related to this music video. He went to America just to record the choir part. even this idea about cage like back ground was his idea. And it's real.. Also even if this is the pre release track this one is Jimin's favorite from FACE album. He is just so talented and i'm so proud of him. Thank you for reacting to this one.. really appreciate it. Make me feel really happy when people genuinely appreciate his artistry. 💜️ and missed you😂💜️
  • I recommend "Filter" or "Serendipity" next for Jimin. They have a nice contrast to set me free pt. 2
  • @lisaking6051
Everything Jimin does is deep and well thoughout. FACE was written, composer, and produced by Jimin as he put his thoughts into songs from what he experienced during the pandemic. He is a true genius! You have to listen to all his songs and their meanings...all are from the soul. He does have many copycats yet none of them will ever be him. He worked on his album for 10 months yet only had 9 days of promotion and hit BB100 with Like Crazy, being the first Korean in 65 years

I could see why you think Jimin would sing a ballad because his voice is suited of it. It's high, soft, strong, gentle, gritty and very unique. Yeah, Jimin came HAAARRRRD on this one.
  • @alix7095
Each of jimin's solo songs is of a completely different genre and vibe. Just when you think jimin has shown us everything he's artistically capable of, he comes in with a song like smf pt 2
  • @SnapCracklyPop
All Jimin’s solo tracks are special and very different: Lie (2016), Serendipity (2017), Promise (2018), Filter (2020), and his last single Like Crazy (2023). I hope you do all of them, but if you had to pick 1-2 for now, Serendipity and…gah, it’s hard to pick because they’re all worth listening to and different! I guess you could check out his last single, which had debuted at #1 on the Hot 100. Both of these have videos.

10:13 Jimin has been through a lot. The hate comments about his visuals, voice and weight. The death threats were the scariest because we didn’t know what would happen when he went on stage. It was so sad and scary back then. But with the members and Army we really became shields aka bulletproof. Jimin is my bias and to see him grow and really not give a fuck makes me so proud. 🐥 welcome to the Chimmy train. There’s an expression Indian Army’s came up with “once you Jimin you won’t Jiminout” 10:13
  • @Damanique
"Going insane to stay sane" is a line that actually comes back in other BTS songs! There are a lot of their songs that refer to other songs through lyrics or melodies. It's really cool :) Also, what great timing to release this video; today Jimin releases his documentary about the FACE album where this song is from! If you are interested in how he produced the song you should definitely check it out!
  • @karolia7252
Jimin's Filter and Like Crazy I'd say they represent the two other different sides of Jimin well and he's such a performer!
  • @sammysamsam2992
The overall execution on SET ME FREE PT 2 is SUPERB! The choreography, lyrics, delivery, music video, and even his live performances. Everything is Superb!
  • @robin11303
I screamed when you said Coliseum music! Stadium music. The whole crowd saying OweO OweO and that side saying Set freeeee. Stadium music. Facts Jimin did that! The whole album is a masterpiece 😂
  • @gabbyd84
How you manage to get me amped for a song I've heard a million times already?! 😅 This song shook the timeline when it dropped. Once you Jimin, you can't Jimin out.
