REVIEW/DISCUSSION | "Human Acts" by Han Kang & "A Taxi Driver" (택시운전사)

Published 2021-06-26
I am certainly not an authority on modern Korean history nor even the Gwangju Uprising, but I did my best to get all my facts straight and ducks in a row before doing this video. Sorry for those of you who prefer reviews that this video mostly just a history lesson, but in talking about this book IRL with others, I came to realize that nobody was aware of Gwangju and the events that transpired there in May 1980.

I highly recommend watching A TAXI DRIVER (available both on Amazon Prime and Viki), as well as getting yourself a copy of HUMAN ACTS, which is available wherever books are sold. My copy is the UK paperback that was printed in 2020, in case you're curious about getting the same cover edition.
