This couple were so humble about accepting their responsibility to change and admitting their mistakes. It's so heartwarming how quickly they remedied the many pitfalls they had fallen into. Absolutely beautiful couple-inside and out.
-
I like how quickly the kids picked up the rules and consequences faster than I've seen other families and that dad was actually happy to cut his work hours to help out more.
-
“Isabella just ignore him” As the only daughter with two younger brothers… this one hurt. It’s so familiar. Boys will be boys and we just have to ignore it apparently
-
"now thats bullying did you see that" me nodding at jo as if shes actually speaking to me
-
These parents actually were good parents. They just over scheduled the kids and themselves. Allowing them all the room to breathe helped the parents be able to parent. That is all. And the new house is amazingly beautiful!
-
The real irony of this episode is the mom being worried about her son’s writing & him incidentally improving those skills by spending so much time in the reflection chair! 😂❤
-
My best friend is Chinese and when she watched this episode, she just shook her head and said "Yep, how I grew up, I never went to bed earlier than midnight after activities and school work". She does not put her kids through all of that, and they are an amazing family.
-
My heart broke when that boy spit in his sisters face and hit the little one in the chest. Kids remmeber these things even when very young. It really is traumatizing more than people realise. That poor girl crying looking down, my gosh that was so hard to watch and I just wanted to hug her.
-
Jo politely says it's the American way to have all these extra curricular activities but from my experience it's the Chinese way.
-
These parents were incredible. It’s nice to see that they weren’t just concerned about their children’s success but also their contribution to society around them. Beautiful family.
-
I was especially impressed by the dad. I was expecting him to be one of those dads who continues to hide in his office rather than engage with the kids, but once Jo said he had to be more involved, he became more involved in every way.
-
I love that the dad said “i just need to cut back on my work, that is all I can do [to fix that]” because he listened to Jo, acknowledged the issue, and put forward the perfect solution. He did not get defensive or apprehensive. Hopefully it stuck
-
Wow! The way the dad actually altered his work schedule to make this work is unheard of! Mom is so much less stressed with an actual parenting partner. Jo did an amazing job with this family, and I must say it's my FAVORITE episode!
-
This is one of my favorite episodes, especially because you can tell the parents love each other and are willing to work together to give their kids good/happy lives. Some parents on here seem like they never care/should have never even had kids.
-
This is probably one of the best episodes I've seen where everything seems to go perfect with the parents and children, and how the parents genuinely care for the well-being of their children. Unfortunately we don't see enough of this on the show as we do here. I'm just glad everyone is cooperating perfectly
-
The parent lessons were effective because the parents were committed and well disciplined. No big egos on these parents.
-
These parents took Jo's recommendations to heart more than any family I've ever seen on this show. They didn't show any resentment or defensiveness at all. They were genuinely humble and open for guidance. They are wonderful parents.
-
Very smart couple they are not comfortable with what she is saying but, they are willing to learn and change. I love this family.
-
This was the most wholesome, pure family I've ever seen on this show. The love they have for one another and their kids was so obvious. They wanted to be better and they just did it! ❤
-
SO happy to see the mom smiling and laughing at the end, that’s how having kids should be! At least part of the time!
