Every once in a while you stumble upon a fanfiction that EVERYONE has read and agree that is amazing. Blue Sky is one of them. Honestly, it could be a movie.

You know what still gets me? It's that Blue Sky is a ship fic and it's so well written I didn't realize it.

Something particularly impressive about Blue Sky that you failed to mention was the way the story was able to nail Chell’s character despite how little there was to work with from the games.

dude, i've never been much for fanfiction either, but that fic is friggin' amazing. drama, humor, some slice of life, character development, and a bit romance. i really liked the backstory bits (which i'm not gonna spoil for anyone).

I actually got away with reading Blue Sky during my English class when it first came out. Granted it was at the end of the year and we weren't really doing anything but when my teacher asked me what I was reading and I told him "A fanfiction based off of my favorite video game" he just nodded and was like "ok" then left. Anyway I love Blue Sky too!

I love how Blue Skies attempted to tie up with Half-Life. It was a joy seeing how humanity progressed with towns like Eaden in a Post Combine world and good god it did seamlessly well and I actually consider this fanfic canon Becuase of that.
