My solution is keep up with your food, and never leave the meadows, ever again, if you don't want to die.
  • People underestimate the power of dodging a lot in Valheim, learning the I-frames and timing of enemy attacks will take you very far. We have shields and weapons but nothing beats the ultra instinct feeling of perfect dodge into a backstab. Great Video Spazzy :_flex:

Feeling really called out cuz I’m that Viking that goes into the mountains in my troll armor lmao
  • @capatheist
My biggest survival tip is dont panic.. recognise when you dont need to run and dont... Get that stamina up to fight or get put of there

Almost every death ive experienced in this game that wasnt lag induced was due to over confidence or complacency. Taking it slow, having an escape route at all times, making sure you are properly equipped and stocked on food, and knowing when to turn back will avoid 95% of deaths. The other 5% you just gotta git gud

A touch of irony... I died while watching this video... Too little to late I'm afraid...

damage from falling - didn't know it is capped. This type of death is common when fighting stone golems. Need to watch out when facing toward mountain slope, esp when one activates bonemass power and gets too confident.

In my experience, the most dangerous enemy in this game is overconfidence. I died so many times because of it. Sure, lets attack these 10 billion dverg mages with stars in a 1 square meter room head on, i have the best gear and food, what's the worst that can happen? That was my biggest death spiral over a 1k+hours in Valheim, let me tell you that.
  • My biggest mistake in this game is often getting into bad situations, I’m very reckless in games and sometimes it pays off well. Sometimes I get myself in a death spiral against a group of Seekers.

Well done video! My tip for survival - the buddy system. I've been seeing mobs prioritize tamed mobs over myself. Having a friend who can't hear a Gjall lead the way also works...

I remember one situation then I sailed very far and died to deathspuito and I sadly didn't have backup ship to get back there. I rage quited that world lmao

With a copper knife and good knife skill you can sneak up on a troll and use the special attack (middle mouse button) to do massive amount of damage. Usually over 60% of their hp. Then just keep hitting them and the stagger will interrupt their first attempt to retaliate. Make sure you have 2 of 3 of your food slots with good stamina foods, and give your stam a second to regen after the sneak, and just before striking.

Would it make anyone mad to know I've never died to a tree in Valheim? Trees actually tend to fall in the direction you're facing when you cut them, angled trees notwithstanding. This gives you SOME degree of control over where they fall; just stand opposite the direction you want it to go. Assuming the terrain doesn't roll the log, you're usually all set. As for death loops, here's a general point that will save you from lots of ambushes: STOP SPRINTING EVERYWHERE. If you're in hostile territory, slow down and keep your stamina high. The worst ambush happens when your stam bar is empty so let off the gas and walk a bit.

Honestly the best piece of advice I give people is; play it like dark souls. Every. Single. Enemy. Attack. can be rolled and avoided with iframes. Even the Slimes/Oozer's poison cloud, even Cultists fire beam.

A well thought through video, not sure there would be much new information for an experienced player, but wish I’d had this as a reference guide when I first started playing Valheim! I hope the algorithm picks it up and rewards you for the significant effort you’ve clearly made in producing this! 👍👍

Corpse run is very useful for retrieving your gear from the mountains
  • @loffel1700
You also forgot to include that, for the mistlands gamers, you can lure baddies to them Dverger camps. Wizards and rogues make quick work of most of anything, and can distract any gjall that spotted you earlier. Another tip is taming animals. Having a breeding pen around your base just makes you have tons of allies in the form of wolves and lox so that raids don't outnumber you so easily.
  • @zncon
I feel like I'm missing something, because with late game armor trees falling on you only do a few points of damage. It seems like armor must mitigate it somehow, and it's not pure.
