Thank you for making this. Iโ€™m highly interested in converting and Iโ€™m trying to better understand my feeling about Hajib. I have been glamorizing it because of the beautiful Hajibis around me and on social media but I donโ€™t want to only view it in that lens. It feel like it is a real commitment and a testimony of faith in Allah. I feel like I need to really understand my why.

I found your channel from the Trader Joe's Brazil Nut video lol and then I noticed from your Eid vlog that you're in ATL too! As someone who's worn hijab for most of their life it's pretty different from my experience so I really appreciate seeing your perspective and your honesty. I agree that going places where you don't feel comfortable as a Muslim/hijabi (or for any other reason) never does anything good for your mental health/self esteem. If I have one tip for hijabi appropriate outfits it's to get at least one really simple open abaya/long cardigan or something of the sort to just throw over your outfits, it can turn something questionable into something you feel comfortable wearing with hijab. I personally think way too much about fashion and putting together outfits so this may not work for everyone but i also like to plan outfits using an app where you upload pictures of all your clothes and make collages (there are many, such as Acloset, Smart Closet, and Open-Wardrobe). It can be a lot of work up front but once you've done it it's so worth it. Makes me feel like Cher from Clueless lol. I also always take pictures of my outfits and have them all in an album so I have a reference for what I like and don't like and can see why I do or don't like them, which informs future outfits. I will say you wear hijab much better than I do lol, I never style mine and just throw it on bc I do not have the patience either with hair or a headscarf. Unsolicited advice aside, I wish you the best in your journey with hijab. May Allah make it easier for you, and may He reward you for striving to do something that you don't love just because of your love for Him.
