  • I would be very nervous right now if I was a resident of any of tthe adjacent buildings
  • @mkeptrangli
Imagine paying hundreds of dollars in HOA fees every month and the building isn’t even maintained to keep structural integrity.
  • @Invited2theBBQ
I can't see how anyone survived that. What a tragedy. My heart aches.
  • @daveclark8337
Imagine being the guy who just signed off on that 40 year inspection.
  • @ameliaah
"There was no warning" Uhhhm the building was sinking 2mil. a year, if thats not a warning, I don't know what is.
  • @ltbrutusq6202
WOW! So Tragic, imagine all owners of condos in the four buildings in that complex their property value went from $700k to ZERO. Now the lawsuits will fly and the original builders are fleeing town or declaring bankruptcy.

I'm sorry, I highly doubt this building just randomly collapsed without warning signs!? Something was an obvious sign that the integrity and safety of the building was compromised. I pray for all those trapped in the debris and for all the love ones waiting🙏 I cannot begin to imagine what any of them are going through right now😢.

Imagine paying a fortune for a apartment then dying in it in the most horrible way
  • @4kmentality
They knew the building was sinking at the rate of 2mm per year since the 90's. That entire building should have been cleared until they could ensure that the shift was no longer happening. The smart thing for anyone in the surrounding buildings to do would be to leave immediately. The shareholders and owners of those buildings dont care about you. They care about revenue.

It's South Florida. 40 years ago. Be it developer, engineers, construction company or inspectors...believe me, some people are sweating bullets right now.
  • @Dakid015
Usually when an apartment reveals a problem that could be a safety hazard, the tenants are usually forced to leave and move somewhere else out of caution. My brother used to stay in a luxury apartment but had to leave when they found a gas leak running underground. This condo had plenty of opportunity over the years to close off the building to residents. Hope this leads to higher safety standards and better inspections. Condolences to the families of all those lost

"There was no warning that the building was subject to a threat to collapse" ...Inspections showed years ago that the building's structural integrity was clearly failing.
  • @elr.4780
If the collapse is due to neglect, or worse someone got paid to overlook inspections,( but you would think it could not be that because this may be years of neglect), Somebody is in trouble.
  • Asking for prayers from anyone who reads this. We have personal friends that we love and treasure that live here and have not been answering their phones. They were supposed be moving out yesterday before the collapse. Prayers would be appreciated.
  • John McAfee owned a condo in that building! I just saw a video that says he had info on government corruption in that condo.
  • @Elisacr1
“Our building collapsed killing people but don’t be mean and judge us!?”
  • @krisb-travel
so they interviewed the dude who builds in the area and he knows the issue and he was basically like yeh bruh that happens around here... GUYS.... STOP BUYING in the area.....area not safe
  • @urankjj
That building, like many buildings all around it have a underground parking structure below them. Also they are all built on what is basically a large sand bar. Just a matter of time.
