I've heard some great covers of Africa from various instrumentalists (Andy McKee comes to mind), but OH MAN! This one feels so lyrical and powerful. The visceral rhythm, the voluptuous harmonies, the crazy arpeggios all cumulatively raise the energy of this piece to such a high level. Hard to sit still for this! Had to put on some great headphones to really soak it in... over and over and over! Thank you Charles!

I still haven't found anyone who surpasses this tremendous artist. Simply the best. Not only is his technique impeccable. His musicality is also impeccable. And this last one is the most difficult to find. That's why his combination is wonderful. Thank God there are people like Charles Berthoud, who inspires thousands of young people to search for the path of excellence.
