Backyard has transitioned beautifully within the culture of the city throughout the years and has become the official sound of DC. Their sound is well loved and recognized by all! For us native Washingtonians, there's history with the band. We literally grew up with BYB!! Around my way, we have been partying with BACK since we were juveniles tryna find our ways up in the clubs. But if you be in them spots, u already know wassup! This was the first gogo band I ever saw. I was staying at a hotel on New York Ave. and Bladensburg Road about 25 years ago . I decided to walk up the street and I went to this place called Dino’s and was STUNNED. IM FROM Nc ,so we party different. I was hooked and made many trips back for go go

I remember in 97 in Anacosta the Unafest and I saw BYB perform and I been loving them since then. I went to Potomac Job Corps and as a Va Cat I met some real ones in DC bumping that BYB mane. Great memories.
