Stallings worked at a nearby Amazon facility, which the company confirmed to WCNC Charlotte when reached out for comment. A spokesperson offered the following statement:

This is an incredibly tragic incident - during this difficult time, we're supporting our employees and have made counseling resources widely available. We're also working closely with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department as they investigate.

An affidavit for Stallings' arrest warrant revealed more information when reviewed by WCNC Charlotte. The affidavit claims Stallings admitted to CMPD that she had left her daughter in the car while at work and had left it running with the air conditioning on. However, she believed her daughter may have gotten cold and turned it off. She also admitted she knew the temperature was 94 degrees and that her daughter shouldn't have been in the car.

Involuntary? Oh, because she admitted she shouldnt have left the child in the car? WTF!? An 8 year old knows damn well what A/C is and what it would be like w/o it!
  • @leelaural
you should never leave your children alone for even a few minutes, let alone for your whole work shift....I guess the facts of how to raise a child is not something inherent, but needs to be taught...

I'm glad my mom is smarter than her!!! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
  • It’s sad that women have to think about leaving their children in a hot car to go to work. Child care is crazy in 2024. There are child care centers that have openings but most of them, I wouldn’t trust with my dog let alone my child. Rest in Paradise to the 8 year old.
  • Stanford University did a study. Even on mild days with windows cracked open, cars get too hot for safety......fairly quickly. We all know that when a person gets too hot, they don't think clearly. So even an 8 year old may stay in the car until they pass out....or worse.
  • NO EXCUSE NO TRIAL NEEDED WHAT A MOM 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
