I imagine the player, thinking wow, I got Magnus Carlsen thinking for over a minute. I must be winning.
  • @ThomasLeo
"My opponents play was reasonable" probably the highest praise you can get from Magnus, that's a win in my book lol

Imagine stressing out playing a 3200 GM, and thinking the long pause after your move means you stumped them only to later find out they were just doing a tutorial video.
  • I think that guy played a great game. 1993, and playing against the world's best.. Great effort! Must feel so good to be complimented by Magnus!!

I love the fact Magnus explains the moves....it really helps me to understand the positions much better
  • @kumagoro
Magnus gained a rating point. Well deserved
  • watching Magnus flip the switch at the end from playing strategically for the endgame advantage to mating within a few moves -- absolute killer instinct. I'm by no means a good chess player, but even still my brain struggles to hold the ability to calculate multiple win conditions like that at the same time. we are so lucky to live at a time where all time greats can play and provide commentary in real time for the whole world to see.

It's so funny how Magnus goes "now that I think about it" after explaining several different scenarios for pretty much every move. It's incredible how immediate the options come to him.

What a time to be a chess fan! Just being able to watch Magnus do his thing and explaining his thoughts so that even a casual player can understand what's going on. It's brilliant. Thanks Magnus
  • Imagine living in a time where the number one Chess player in the world for decades can talk you through his games and explain his thinking.

I prefer the Jennifer Lopez opening, but to each their own

Playing Magnus is like walking a tightrope… everything seems ok but soon as you start to lose balance the fall comes very quickly

Not me saying "nice, he can get his queen with that discovered check now" only for it to be checkmate next move.
  • @Angel-VTek
I never analyzed how brilliant he is. He visualized how to destroy his opponent 2 mins before. His way to calculate every single move is really awesomem hats off
  • Magnus' commentary definitely miles ahead of ''i let the chess speak for itself'.
  • Magnus always makes it look so easy. Magnus’s speech is never pressured which makes for easy listening.
  • @TIJEY-BEG
I enjoyed analyzing this duel. It was so exciting and with brilliant moves.
