In episode 9 of our boatbuilding series, we finish cutting and fitting most of the Coosa Board on our custom-built 29-foot hybrid bay charter boat. Now more fiberglass work begins. We are using 1708 biaxial glass by V2 composites, and finishing with a layer of 1 oz mat for a cosmetic finish. I will be sharing some tips and techniques that I have found helpful over the years in the boat shop. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment. BEAUTIFUL, You make it look so easy. Very educational and exceptionally nice job on the boat

I’ve always double gloved when doing glass work, just so I can peel and keep on working the glass. Well, except when I was first learning, the only gloves available were to thick and cumbersome so we used bare hands. So glad we finally got access to examination gloves and now gloves specifically designed with the craftsman in mind🙂 Love watching a master work😎

You are an absolute natural for making videos. You know your craft and are comfortable in front of a camera. You get stuff done right and quick too. I'm guessing dad had a lot to do with all that ! I just started doing glass work in my shop because I couldn't find anyone to send it to locally. It has been a brutal learning curve. I picked up several tips watching your videos that will really accelerate my learning curve.

Wow what some awesome instructional video, and a great fisherman too. Your Dad would really be proud.
  • I started watching a more recent video of yours and was so impressed by the extreme quality of the attention to detail and extremely sound boat building practices you follow, I had no choice but to go back to the beginning and watch all of the series. I have been a professional boat builder for over 40 years and this project is super educational for me yet would help any DIY person to take off on their own project with some confidence and some instructions that will produce excellent results for any of us. You are a true asset to the YouTube folks looking for the right way to repair or completely restore a boat. You are in the top 1% of instructional video content in this category. Please keep it up. Boating and Fishing is such a great way to spend time with friends and family. I join you in wanting to make that possible for as many as possible. Take care

  • You're a very refreshing content provider. You're conscientious, detail oriented, kind to others that are on your channel, and just really good at what you do. You're making a quality product here. Thank you for doing these videos. This is definitely one of your many callings/talents.

Wondering if you made templates of all the deck work.. never heard of coosa. Cool to see you not using a cnc machine. Your son is fortunate to have a good teacher as well as you clearly did.. awesome
