You can really see how all the extra weight the GT-R was saddled with absolutely hobbled it over a race. Still, great memories, so thank you!

That's hilarious when those Nissans blew em away at the start.
  • The BMW M3 was purpose built as a race car first later becoming a road car, the others were all road cars first. What the M3 lacked in power they made with being light weight and incredible handling/braking! Mean sounding engine the M3, they thrive on RPM,s!

E30 M3 in Sport Evolution spec was a weapon.

Wish I had a dollar for every time I've seen a car turned around by Paul Morris.

The season when they had to hobble the R32 GTR's with low boost and over a hundred kilo's of sand bags in the boot to slow it down so Ford and Holden had a chance. Jim Richards stated he wouldnt drive it anymore (the GTR) if they added anymore weight as it was becoming dangerous with the back end trying to come around in corners....that was the reason the GTRs were slower in the corners and having to brake early.

great memoirs alright. with the v8s superstars searies and holden racing team gone what a shame you never see this stuff ever again. all wheel drive commadores and v8 mustangs and nissan gtrs etc most probably be around from 2017. they say falcons all though ford have closed the plant and current commadores will be around in 2017 things won't be the same

This was brilliant racing, classes set out to offer best performance across the board, small power lightweight cars with narrow tyres, against medium power medium weight cars with medium width tyres, against big power heavyweight cars with wide tyres. It worked because each class had it's advantages for different types of tracks and situations. Today's clowns have made them all the same, and we get no passing, fookwits.
  • if you add the length of sfaife's nose to the front of the nissan he ends up winning...

It’s amazing how slow they made the gtr’s in a straight line. It’s amazing with the reduced power and big increase in weight that they were still able to win the championship and Bathurst.
  • the last year i bothered to take an interest in production car racing..

  • @fredoes
