Here's the number 1 sign: If every time you're with someone and you always feel worse about yourself after being in their company, they're toxic. Doesn't matter if it's a parent, a sibling, a neighbor, whatever, do yourself a favor. Walk away and don't look back. Don't wait years to realize they'll never change.

My beautiful DAD💔 said to me once ‘If people are family, would you still be friends with them?’Food for thought. Such a wise man, & my best friend. He ‘went home’ nearly 4 years ago; & still can’t believe it. I miss him. I was extremely grateful he was my DAD; l was blessed. I still am. ❤️💔

I love the verse in the Bible that states” Be still and know that I am God.” I have gotten to the point that I do not trust most people.

If someone doesn't respect you now, they're unlikely to respect you tomorrow. Relationships should work 2 ways.

Never listened to my needs and worries, constantly putting me down and touching in the most incecure parts of my psyche...I was always the one to blame and the one who needed to change to earn her love. Never satisfied, constantly frustrated and mad... I just walked away silently, but kept blaming myself for that act. It took me two years to finally realize what actually happened to me and to start accepting, respect and love myself. I hope everyone that went through this kind of abuse finds their enlightenment and inner peace ❤

Emotional intelligence is very important. If the person cannot agree with your choices they shouldn't disrespect you.
  • I guess it's no wonder that I am alone with my 3 cats and greatly enjoy my solitude every single day!!
  • Family turned on me, colleagues turned on me, I was publicly humiliated, I was harrassed,. People will do shady things to destroy others and get to the top, and even pretend to be nice to you only to get information to hurt you more..... sick sick world we live in, but there are good people.

Self centered people suck all the oxygen out of the room. You can tell this kind of person if they visit you and you feel exhausted when they leave.
