I hated this quest to my bones. When it was done, I was determined to use Malfeasance, in spite, so I could get some value out of the grinding I put in. That was more than 35,000 kills ago. This gun has become a mainstay in my arsenal and my trusty, reliable failsafe for when things go wrong. Anger turned to love. Also, since Forsaken was sunset, Im pretty sure you just need to kill a Primeval in Gambit while you have the quest, gained from the Kiosk in the Tower, under the Past Missions section. The meatball no longer exists, sadly

This video has warmed my heart to see you go thru the AGONY and Anger and Frustation and floods of emotions to relief that it was finally over that I went thru. Cheers from the other side of the pond.

Sticking a player on a tiny platform with a boss that pushes you off the edge is the dumbest idea. So I didn't feel bad about hiding on the ledge behind the rock and cheesing it.
  • Running double primary weapons also hurts my soul 😢 A special weapon would have helped in both the strike and gambit greatly

Honestly good for you for soloing this, I did it with 3 people when the quest came out, and in that strike we still struggled

if you are REALLY stuck on the phalanx boss, there is a ledge behind the giant rock where you can shoot him without him booping you off
  • I feel your pain, but in all honesty you had it pretty easy. This quest was much harder when it first released. Gambit matches were much longer back then, and 3.0 subclass buildcrafting didn't exist. I spent an entire week on this same quest lol

Nibbs, I came to get a refresher on the quest steps, but was thankful that I clicked on your video. I watch a LOT of D2 videos, and am stoked I found someone who has a familiar mix of genuine pain in his humor I get that awkward silence when i make some comments in the new clan I joined. Great video. Def subscribed, and look forward to checking out some of your other content.

man, you're making me want to bring golden gun into gambit thanks for chronicling your experience, hope malf does some good work for you I don't remember having this bad of a time but I did it quite a long while ago
  • Dude I subscribed just for this video. First person to show what I have actually been putting up with for that last 5 years. Thanks for the laughs by the way. It was really nice and funny some of the times to see that I am not the only one who has gone through this. I still haven't got this weapon yet.

I casually did this quest over what must have been a couple years. I have to say, I don’t think I’ve played Gambit since I completed the quest. Lol I should also point out I managed a team wipe pretty quickly upon getting to that stage of the quest. I waited for the quest step completion to show up, then realized I was on a character that wasn’t at that stage. Took me a week to calm down after that.
  • I remember breezing through the whole strike solo until I got to the final boss. It was easy until I met that guy. Died about 80 times before I won. Not fun at all.

just an fyi..the version of the corrupted strike that you had to do in this quest line is one of the best farms for weapon catalyst in the game....after you start that quest and you kill that first ogre where you have to take the stairs around to the top...go to the left at the bottom and take the stairs to the left...go about 3/4 of the way to the top until the ogre up there see's you and then go back down the stairs about half way and cursed thrall will start to spawn endlessly and come down the stairs..you just stay in the general area of the stairs and kill thrall endlessly and best part is any special or heavy ammo you create will slide down the stairs right to you..thrall will spawn endlessly unless you kill the ogre at the top...dont kill the ogre..i purposely saved this mission on my titan just for catalyst..as long as you never complete it..the marker for the mission start will always be in the dreaming city. a note for those doing catlyst for special or heavy ammo weapons..if you go to the bottom of the stairs the thrall will pause...kind of a reset..simply go back up the stairs until the ogre or enemies see you and the thrall will start again and special and heavy ammo will drop regularly buy doing this...not sure how many people even know about this spot.
  • Did this with star eaters and orb generation so I'd all but ensure a golden gun for every invasion in the early game. Made this part of the quest so much less stressful. If you plan on being a nuisance for the boss phase you'd end up with plenty of special/heavy to harass the enemy team with too
  • Very good video, loved the song. Once you get the catalyst, it goes so hard. My buddy and I are 2 manning raid bosses with this sexy gun and lucky pants

This Quest was really hard doing solo. I got my Malfeasance just 2 weeks ago! Especially the first part was annoying! Here is how it was for me: I used Void (Hunter) and once I cleared everything in the first encounter I ran upstairs as fast as I could and kill the bosses with my super and rocket launcher. Then at the second part it was just run and hide doing damage until I cleared everything. Then the 3rd step with the shreekers I killed some of the Hive Knights and just ran behind the shreeker (there was something to scan ) going invisible as often as I can and did the same running to the oger encounter. (If you arrive the stairs you will spawn in there when you die ). Then the Oger fight: I concentrated my first strong attacks at the oger and then jumped up to the second level. Here I stayed out of the sight of the Oger and only attacked with my super and rocket launcher. After that killing everything that got in sight until my super was charged again. In the next step I changed to strand-focus, because it rescued me often from falling down, and kill enemy waves fast. I basically ran in circles over the map holding distance to the boss and killing all those "Acolyte Eyes" , then some shots from a special-wepaon and heavy weapon on him and then switching back to kinetic for the adds. Took me quite a few time to figure it out, but at the end I made it! Congrats to all who made it, too! Now you can call yourself a "Dregen"!
  • Malfeasance quest was pretty chill for me However the Wish-Ender quest is Currently Absolute hell for me. The enemies just don't fucking miss any of their shots. Funny enough im using malfeasance for this
  • @GoodOlKappaTea
I loved this quest, perfect difficulty for such a solid weapon.
