The frantic 911 call from a dad at the center of a hot-car tragedy was released. A 2-year-old died after her father allegedly left her in his car on a scorching hot day. He says she was asleep in the car and he didn't want to wake her so he left the engine running and the air conditioner on. When the little girl's mom came home, she found the car off and no air conditioner. Police say Christopher Scholtes allegedly got distracted by playing his video game and putting his food away.

3 hours playing a video game knowing that tiny angel was in the car ALONE!? Nah, he must face consequences

He could've just carried her out of the car and put her in her own bed 😒

I’m sorry, he knew better. His wife even said she told him in the past not to leave the kids in the car. But he does so he can play his video games. That poor baby deserved better, not a father who didn’t want to deal with her when she woke up.

How old is the father not to realize the danger of leaving the child alone in that condition

Ah yes, leaving your child in the car for 3 hours with the car on. Definitely normal behavior..... Put him under the prison
  • Whether the little girl was sleeping or not he should have woken her up and brought her into the house. Your child is more important than groceries or a video game.

I'm disgusted by the mother defending him saying it's a big mistake and it doesn't represent him. He's done this on multiple occasions with leaving his kids in the car and forgetting about them.

This one isn't a mistake. He purposely left her in there and straight up forgot because he was too busy playing video games. And, by the way, how the hell did this man child end up with a doctor?!

The fact that the mom took the dad’s side as well… like ma’am if he did it to your one daughter he’ll do it to your others!! I’m pretty sure she said he’s done this before too with the other daughters

This man better be charged. He sat in the house and played video games while his daughter was probably crying and tortured by the heat. Absolutely horrendous parenting. He needs to be charged

Many times my daughter has fell asleep in the car on a hot day and I still try to lift her up because she's sleeping or not if she wakes she wakes if she doesn't she does not. But I will not I repeat I will not leave her in a hot car while it's running just because I do not want to disturb her sleep. This is straight up negligence.

Now that’s what you call “Irresponsible Parenting”.

What he had done: "Hm she's sleeping. I'm going to let her sleep. It's hot out here but it's ok I'll let the car running (wasting electricity/gas but oh well). Ah time to play video game! Woo hoo!" What he should have done: "Hm she's sleeping. It's hot out here, I'll just bring her in the house, put her in her room and turn on the AC/fan. Ah time to play video game! Woo hoo!"

So... basically he didn't want to wake her so he could go in the house and play his game in peace! Be freakin' for real! That poor child has a father who didn't want to be bothered by her. Wow!

Really pathetic from the mother, clearly she thinks her daughter life was worth three hours of video games. Even if you thought it was a mistake, I would never speak to him again because his actions killed my child.

This is common sense, so there is quite a chance it was intentional.... Poor girl... I remember being in a hot car for 10 minutes as a toddler, and 10 minutes at that age feels like a very long time. I can't imagine her pain... rest in peace.
