It’s weird how when I see people who have acne scars and hyperpigmentation, I don’t think anything of it. I look at you and think “god she’s so beautiful”. But then I look in the mirror and see my scars and hyperpigmentation and I can’t give that same energy.

I love it. She looks like me and not those makeup guru’s or social media influencers with a filter covering their actual skin. It’s so nice to feel like you’re being represented.

The suggestions that I have is to find an SPF that works for you. If you do not use one, the acne scars will heal with a dark mark. Also I would suggest color correcting first. Then a lightweight foundation over top with a beauty blender. Then that concealer will be perfect with less blotchiness and patchynes. Also if you are getting very red from the cream it may be too irritating. I believe and I'm not sure but that water cream has fragrance in it. That could be irritating each time u put it on.

Primer recommendation: I use the sunscreen “SVR Sun Secure Blur SPF50+” as a primer even though it's not a primer because the texture is too thick and uncomfortable to use as a regular sunscreen, but as a primer it's PERFECT! Put a little amount starting from T zone and spread like you would with a regular primer. It mattifies, and blurs imperfections. Your makeup is so easy to apply afterward as it will literally glide on your face, and the bonus is that you get added sun protection!

i absolutely love your content. it's so natural, so real. so honest. it really helps to accept the fact that makeup gurus do not need to have a crystal clear skin. we can have texture, hyperpigmentation, acne AND have good makeup on. thank you for making it relatable. and i love how detailed your videos are.

Hiii I just wanted to say that some of these products might be making your acne worse, the makeup by Mario concealer has coconut alkanes which is on the list of acne causing ingredients, as well as bismuth oxychloride and the Kylie cosmetics concealer has diisostearyl malate, and polyglyceryl-4 isostearate which also can trigger acne. And the Laura Mercer powder contains talc, magnesium myristate, ethylhexyl palmitate, and glycine soja soybean oil- more acne triggers. It is hard to find products that are acne safe and it totally sucks ! I used to use the Laura Mercer powder too, I switched to the huda beauty powder and honestly its better as someone with really oily skin because I can reapply without getting the yellowish buildup that the Laura Mercer one has. Rn ive been using the Lyra classic tinted sunscreen and then spot concealing with the bareminerals matte foundation which im surprised doesn't look cakey and I recommend the combo ! and If you dont like the foundationy- feel I would still recommend the Rose Inc skin smoothing foundation because its the safest product ive found and you can use it as a concealer (+ all the reviews are great). Take my advice with a grain of salt because no one asked me butbut I know the struggle of acne and I try to help people with it when I can
  • Love the energy you bring to your videos ! Thought I'd share some skincare suggestions that have cleared my hyperpigmentation & control my adult acne as a latina. Two key products are tretinoin retin-A gel 0.025% & epiduo gel. Both are topical prescriptions, so definitely see a dermatologist. Even though the tretinoin dose is very low, it'll cause your skin to purge / dry & get flaky in the beginning. Once you build your tolerance, you'll see your hyperpigmentation fade and acne scars minimize as the tretinoin helps create new skin cells that'll shed off that old layer of skin. Epiduo is benzoyl peroxide that you can get over the counter and is great for preventing a pimple the moment you feel it forming and alleviate the redness. I know pimples hurt, so using benzoyl peroxide is super helpful ! It's also great to use an exfoliant at least 3x per week (every other night). Paula's choice BHA was my holy grail but it's pricey, so I switched to Naturium BHA. The brand has really great products you can find at target ! One other key product is incorporating a vitamin C. I use one from Naturium or the Ordinary everytime I apply the exfoliant at night. Oh and don't forget to apply sunscreen because that prevents hyperpigmentation, as well. Also, I don't know if you've noticed that certain foods cause acnes flare-ups. I'm 27 and all of my acne / hyperpigmentation has cleared up. However, every time I eat nuts or chocolate I form a pimple the next morning which stinks because I looove chocolate haha. Sorry that this comment was a bit lengthy ! I hope some of these suggestions help !!

Love the look ❤i also don’t wear foundation currently i use nars soft matte complete concealer i have oily skin with acne scars and pimples and that concealer is bomb ! doesn’t irritate, clog my active pimples stays put and matte throughout whole day amazing formula most concealers creases and worn off ,and your tutorial proves it,hiding the acne with just concealer looks far better than covering full face with foundation

Ŵow, I do My makeup just like that! No foundation, let the concealer sit while I do my eyes& liner& then brows, and brush it in& add powder. But I also never use highlighter- only blush. Great job
