Africa’s fastest woman Marie-Josee Ta Lou has left the whole world in shock with her impressive speed. This woman is breaking barriers and doing what was initially thought impossible. For a very long time, the women’s 100-meter prelims on a global stage have forever been dominated by two countries… And these countries were Jamaica and also the United States. For the last decade Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson-Herah both from Jamaica, proved to be the fastest 100 meter runners of all time.
However, it seems the card is gradually changing… For one, Jamaica’s 100 and 200-meter Olympic defending champion Elaine Thompson-Herah withdrew from the Olympics a month ago citing an injury. Again Shericka Jackson who was expected to step in Elaine’s position just pulled out of the 100 meters for what she termed was ‘protecting her body’.
