Troy Finner's commitment to community policing is what those who call Houston home say they want to see in the city's next public safety leader.

  • Troy flushed his reputation down the pipe when he rehired and rewarded incompetent officers.
  • How about they work on the 260K cases that were not investigated.

Thank God finner is retired. He will make more in retirement than most of the struggling tax payers of the harris county area.

Why does this always become a race issue?? The man failed to do his job..all them cases that he threw out that got dismissed..really??
  • Probably in about 1 or 2 years it will not be much different and people will be saying the same thing. He did a good job. They are short staffed and it becomes a losing battle. The crime rate is a remaining variable it doesn't go away. The only way to tell the difference if it changes is to look at the statistics in a year or 2.
  • Hahaha, what a joke. This is all about race. They overlooked his lies because his part of their race.

Oh, ok, last 2 years of Finners commitment to the community didnt do or help the situation one bit. So it doesnt matter that Houston residents voted down a needed jail and reduced the police force because of the "community's belief that..Troy Finner's commitment would help? They dont want the police until ..they...want the police...so its the community who's running the show? They want criminals arrested in... their ...neighborhoods but its police brutality when its a criminal thug outside the neighborhood and then its expected that they treat the perpetrator with kid gloves and gently make an arrest? Only to have little if any bond posted? Only to have the case dismissed ? Troy Finner cant make a difference until you get a DA that prosecutes ...and it cant be a democrat...which most Houstonians are. and vote as a democrat liberal bloc...you need more jail space...which most democratic majority Houstonians did not want and you have to have city council, most of whom are democrats, approve a budget to increase police staffing, which Houston doesnt have enough money for because the majority are low income...and theres not enough tax revenue for all the city services along with a healthy number of police.
  • It was very successful in my community then ou4 mayor removed the completely leaving our community helpless and getting attacked by the drug lords .for helping the police we all got attacked .I don't recommend community policing .
  • they should pay attention to gulfton, not third ward, third ward is a burden to Houston
