I buy dry beans, they’re very cheap. Soak them then cook the next day. I don’t add salt

There are literal hundreds of these "Don't eat this thing" videos all over YouTube. Funny how I've eaten these things all my life and haven't keeled over yet.

Ground beef, can of kidney beans, and canned diced tomatoes. Stew and season. Yum!
  • Now I want to make stew with most of the healthy beans you just suggested.

Nice video. I enjoy beans having grown up with them since my mother was farm raised and a great cook.

My favorite is Ranch Style Beans. I sometimes mix it with some refried beans to make a thicker burrito mix.

A Mashed video a year or so ago did a taste test and said Bush's Vegetarian Baked Beans were the best canned beans. So I tried them and found that Mashed was right (they are excellent) and now eat them regularly (and lost weight, too). Should I stop eating these?

A few days ago, I was at the store. A man was laying on a bench. He complimented me on my hat
  • I prefer cooking using dry beans with my seasoning over any can beans. A little more work, but well worth it in taste and health reasons. Shalom

I just want to comment that chili beans are NOT the product you described, at least in the US. The Hormel and other brands you showed are CHILI, as in chili WITH beans. Chili beans, best known brand is Ranch Style but there are others. Chili beans have seasoning similar to chili, but are different. Also, most canned beans are HIGH in sodium, and it’s never clear from the can label how much sodium can be removed by draining and/or washing. I’ve found that many beans labeled “organic” are much lower in sodium than their not-organic counterparts, but are more expensive. Making from scratch is the best way to control sodium, but takes more planning. Frozen home cooked beans are great, though.

    Refried beans taste so good!

I adore Boston style baked beans. I can't make them from scratch except during the winter.

Black beans are my favorite kind. I enjoy cooking them and also getting that in items from Taco Bell. 😃

I will continue to buy canned beans because improperly cooking legumes can kill me.
