I think it would be awesome if they showed the original Twister movie in the theaters again. Such a great movie for the big screen!

Nothing will ever be as good as the original. RIP Bill Paxton and PSH.

Bill Paxton in Hollywood heaven: “but we already made the masterpiece!”

I think this trailer probably contained every single intense moment in the movie. I basically just watched it

As a meteorologist for over 10 years, this will not compare to the original! That was my favorite movie as a kid…
  • @SHADOWMAN86..

People don’t realize how iconic twister was. It inspired a whole new generation of storm chasers. I bought a pick up truck and chased for almost eight years. The movie may have been classified as fiction, but in reality, it was pretty much based on true events. The NSSL had an instrument called Toto, and in the movie it was called Dorothy, but it was the same objective. Place it in the damage path so it can take scientific measurements from inside the funnel. Some movies really should be left alone, and twister is one of them. And with the unfortunate passing of Bill Paxton, sequels be damned because you’ll never measure up to the original cast. Rest in peace Bill. Twister may be almost 30 years old, but it is still the go to for the extreme storm chasing movie.

So crazy they put in the falling wind turbines. Reed Timmer literally just got the real life version yesterday during the Greenville tornado in Idaho.
  • It’s super interesting how in some of the scenes there’s debris weighing hundreds of pounds more than the people that’s being hurled around the air yet the people are just standing there like the wind doesn’t phase them

My sister and I loved the OG. We watched it over and over and over again. We knew all the lines and paused and rewound the VHS so many times trying to find hidden stuff. We knew all the characters names. She went to Heaven 10 years ago, and now she's joined by Bill and Dusty. We watched Storm Chasers on the Discovery channel. I remember countless stories of us taking cover in our basement in Illinois when tornados came through. Once it was just her, I, and our dog home alone when a tornadic storm came through. Once in 2004 we had a tornado come through our home area and cause devastation in the next little town over. We went out and surveyed the damage. The year before she passed, she went down to Washington, Illinois to help out with the tornado victims there. I'll be watching this thinking of her.

In my mind, Twister and this are two separate movies, and Twister will always be on top in my heart

Trying to recreate a masterpiece is a mistake
  • The only way I really see this working is if one of them if Jo and Bill's kid and they are having to redo the data collection in order to find out what information was missing from the original Dorothy as technology has advanced so much in 28 years.

When they keep doing remakes instead of original content you know it's a bad sign.
  • A literal SyFy Channel Movie that should have just gone straight to DVD or Streaming. The original still holds up to this day and the cast was immensely better and more talented, especially Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt, RIP Bill Paxton.
  • I love how the truck gets pulled away like it’s being abducted by aliens while everything else is staying down.
