Charley saying “Francis Scott Off-Key” was tremendous 🤣

Charley Steiner is a genuinely great person. A friend of mine in college was part of the campus radio station, and among other things called some games for the school. He somehow got hold of Charley’s contact information and sent him a message asking if he had any advice for a young broadcaster. I was there when Charley called him directly and talked to him for over a half hour, giving him tips and advice and just generally being awesome. He didn’t have to do that, and I’m sure it’s not the only time. Needless to say, we are all Charley Steiner fans for life.

Jack Edwards wheezing with laughter — WHEEZING!!! — is the best part of the whole thing.
  • After 30 years it's still the funniest moment and Charley Steiner's laughter is legendary! 🤣🤣🤣

Charley Steiner laughing is the greatest sound that has ever emanated from Bristol, Connecticut... Bar none!
  • @wolfwilliams
Jack Edwards nearly hyperventilating next to Charlie was also a highlight of the segment.

SportsCenter in the 90's to early 2000's was GOLD. Go look at that legendary line up of sports news anchors! Nothing will ever come close to this in sports media.

How did ESPN lose both of these guys? Baffling… They are SO good!

The Evander Holyfield sportscenter commercial is one my favorites. 😂

I was there that night. As a season ticket holder my seats were center court next to the tunnel. When Carl Lewis hurried off I looked at him to make eye contact but all I could see was a glassy stare looking straight ahead and a face drained of color. His face was an ashen color. I felt terrible for him. It was painful.
