After seeing a glimpse into the future, a young mother must stand against the dark forces of fate.

My entry into SaberComp 2022. Fun fact, this is the 20th anniversary of the contest, and my 7th entry into that contest.

It was a blast making this, and the location is one of my all time favorite places to shoot. Everywhere I turned the camera it looked amazing.

Also, it was so fun to have my daughter Emily in this. She had so much fun being on a Star Wars set for a couple days.

  • Yes! Yes! And absolutely heck yes! 🎉 Y’all did it again. This felt so very SW to me thematically.

Wait....are you kidding me? How are you able to do in 7 minutes what Disney couldn't do over 3 movies? This was incredible! I need to see what happens next!

Him using the force to pull her Saber down to attack right at the beginning was an awesome way to start a duel and my God was this a duel.
  • This was better choreographed than all Disney lightsaber duels, but one thing is still a problem. Even in a fan duel, people STILL can't seem to die from a lightsaber stab. 🤔
  • Totally justifies the Jedi way. She all along knew she would probably die fighting him, but she gave it all that she could. Man, that felt the REAL Star Wars story. Hats off to this superb masterpiece!

I feel like she meditated to accept her vision, managing her fear, and live through the inevitable with courage.

this is what star wars feels like, epic, emotional, and energetic. Fantastic work overall
  • FINALLY! We get to see a lightsaber pike in live-action, and this entire duel looks phenomenal! Great work!
  • @gamer1X12
how did you guys manage to put plot twists in a film barely longer than 5 minutes and with no overarching story/plot context in the first place??? so simple and so genius. 10/10 did watch again
  • As a musician and a Star Wars fan, I’m amazed at how well your composer did with his score, and how your director and editors gave him the necessary room to influence and accompany the story in accordance with Star Wars’ niche! Absolutely outstanding work guys, I loved every second of this.

As an avid fan of KotFE, seeing a Pike Saber actually used in a high production value duel brings me immense joy.
  • I love these little fan productions, they add such cool stories to an already awesome universe.

Thank you for giving us a saber duel short that gives us the stakes of the battle but also the fact you both were aiming for each other and not the blades.Amazing.
  • @MHill98
I love the lightsaber pike. Haven't seen that in a solid minute. Well done!
  • @Torbero47
This told a better story than the 7,8 and 9 combined. Great job

I am just now discovering this, about a year after posted date. This was incredible. A wonderful short film. Everything was tap notch from the sound, the setting, the costumes, the fight choreography, they music.

Your location is amazing, matches the tone perfectly. I think this is the best implementation of a light pike I have ever seen in anything. the cinematography and choreography are stunning. The use of the Force feels natural. This is by far and away the best entry I've seen this year and one of the best I've seen ever.
  • I love how this scene was so organic, I could feel an emotional connection with the Jedi and her child, and the intensity of the sith and the deep story between them without ever being introduced to one. This was Star Wars, Disney should give you the rights and the budget for a new trilogy

They created more emotion and investment from the audience with little dialogue than some of the latest films. Bravo! ❤
