To be fair, regenerative braking is very common on modern electric trains. I’d argue it’s more known for its use in trains than in racecars.

70 9-Car Class 345 trains manufactured by Bombardier (now Acquired by Alstom) is probably enough to serve the Elizabeth Line plus with a possibility of 10-20 more Class 345s if the extension from Abbey Wood to Gravesend does get the go ahead.
