VERNON, BC WINTER | Vernon, British Columbia | Winter in the Okanagan

In this video, we walk you through what it’s like living in the Okanagan Valley in the winter in Canada. Vernon British Columbia is about 45 minutes from Kelowna BC. That being said, the winter in Kelowna is not much different from the winter in Vernon! The city of Vernon is small, but has all that you need and in our opinion is one of the best cities in BC to move to! If you’re considering moving to Kelowna, or moving to the Okanagan in general, we recommend considering moving to Vernon, BC if you haven’t already.

➤ ABOUT US: Hi! We’re Nick & Raychel, the couple behind the blog Not Luxe - where we write travel guides & help people open their eyes to alternative living, whether that be teaching English online, moving to Cambodia, taking advantage of working holiday visas (like in Australia) or building a DIY stealthy camper van to live & work on the road. Right now, we’re living the van life and travelling safely in our own backyard of British Columbia in Canada.

Our goal here is to bring you weekly content where we hope to inspire you to break free & live the life you desire. On Thursdays, we talk everything from finances to minimalism to working online to mindset and on Sundays, we post a weekly vlog of our daily lives. We hope you join us on our journey to see the world, save money, live minimally, and most importantly, have fun.

Thanks for watching! We only had some weird hours to film this week - trying to balance our conflicting work schedules was a bit of a challenge - so alas, a different kind of video. See you again later this week!
  • Great video showing this amazing town - we call Vernon. Born and raised here 56 years ago. will never leave my home town. Lots of cool history which I truly love

BC is the most beautiful place in the world. The animals, the greenery, the snow, the lakes, the sunsets, the sunrises and the women. All naturally beautiful. Gosh darn it, why can't the whole world be BC.

Well done! I'm rootin' for you guys from over here in Calgary. I subscribed a couple weeks ago after seeing your build video. I still have a lot to watch but I appreciate your (fellow) Canadian content. I spent a lot of time mountain biking in and around Vernon way back when and that really brings back fond memories. I just bought a van myself 3-weeks ago so I'm looking forward to taking some road trips. Cheers!

Thanks for another great video guys! We are thinking about moving to Vernon from Edmonton, it looks beautiful.
  • I'm enjoying all your videos from the Okanagan! We are moving from southern Ontario to Salmon Arm in May and can't wait to explore the Okanagan. You should do a video from the Salmon Arm area sometime :)

Born and lived in vernon 28 years. Terrible climate, always cloudy and cold. I now live in southern Mexico by the warm Pacific ocean. Lots of people on the beach fishing and swimming. Mexico is a true free paradise.
