The key that worked for me can be found here amzn.to/3twZf4p

JEEP JK(U) steps (probably works the same on other models)
You do NOT need two factory keys to program a new key thanks to JScan

In other news I really recommend VEEPEAK OBD scanner if you're looking at an app like Jscan or you just want to read your trouble codes and check engine light codes. Here's a link to the VEEPEAK I use amzn.to/2N3g7PG

0) Buy blank programmable key and get it cut
1) Take factory key put it in ignition open Jscan and read key pin (see video)
2) Write down pin
3) Take factory key out of ignition
4) Insert your new key that has been cut, into ignition
5) Launch Jscan again
6) Follow video on programming the new key w/ key pin you got in step 2

At 1:29 I was mistaken. For JK & JKU owners it is the pin that says JK on it. • First time ever commenting on a YouTube video... You just saved me about 350dollars as I already had the j scan. Worked perfect. Thanks

Worked for my '15 JKU with no power anything. Just your standard sentry key. Bought 2 on ebay, used your process worked like a charm. Thanks so much man!!

Great video - very helpful!! A tip for those that need to take the key apart to have it "cut": *Take the back off - that's where the battery is. *Remove the three small screws - be careful with the spring. *Once cut, assemble. Use the the back of the remote to "wind" the spring before pushing it back together. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the clear and concise information; it took me 3 minutes and 10 seconds moving slowly making sure I didn't miss a step to program 2 keys. I already had an OBDII. So, spending $55 (2X blanks, cut, VIN license) is way better than the $350 my dealer quoted me for one key or the $180 from the local smiths who would only cut and program not just cut. Thanks again and many Cheers.

Thanks for the video. Bought a used JK with only one key. This vid adn App helped me make 2 copies fully programmed and saved me $300!

Worked perfect for me with the key and obd scanner you linked. Thank you!

I used the veespeak and JScan to successfully program 2 amazon replacement keys for our 07 Commander. The remote start does work on new keys. We didn’t have but one oem key so short of dealer or locksmith we were stuck. Thanks for the video and the tips.

Thank you! It worked perfectly on a ‘12 Chrysler 200. (In my case, it showed a pin with a space, but I had to enter the pin with just numbers, no space)
  • @slickraft
It worked for my 2010 Jeep Liberty but the hardest part for me was getting the dang VeePeak BLE to pair with my Android. After about 20 tries it finally paired and in less that 3 minutes I had my $8 eBay key up and running. Awesome!
  • @Bradp18
Ace cut the keys and after a couple of tries both of my new keys are functioning. Thanks so much!!!

Thank you for the informative video! Just had my key cut and programmed it no problem, my 2016 JKU was WM3 in the coding (but that was the only option JScan gave me anyway) and I had to enter the pin twice to get it to work but took less than 5 mins to do. Much appreciated 👍🏼
  • @mike01166
thanks for the video. worked like a charm. bought the same key you linked and programmed with jscan. simple!
  • @raymondvelasco7
Nice worked for me thanks! Home Depot wouldn’t do the key because it wasn’t there’s or whatever but ace did with their grumpy old crew. 👍
  • @SuperKira555
Thanks so much for your video, just did all the steps and everything worked like a charm on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler! So hyped I just saved myself almost $400 and got a way cooler key fob now :-)

Great video!! I have a 2017 jk and have aame key, but i just programmed by pressing keys buttons (saw it in YouTube video) of course i had to pull the remote apart to get it cut, but overall i have 2factory key and this flip key looks amazing, this is another way of programming.

Thank you! Worked for my 2018 dodge grand caravan
