The best context for Cuphead getting corrupted is that he got corrupted but only temporarily and he's trying to help the others destroy Boyfriend so he can't corrupt anyone else.

imagine if this is actually a full mod with going to how it started the corruption and then in the last week theres gonna be a cutscscene show corupted bf is traveling to a universe and then finally meating the trio that would be cool. and btw nice gameplay and vid man

The reason why Bendy and sans might be immune to the corruption. First of all Bendy might be discord or a lack of melody (which is why his voice goes a bit off key and sounds like audio on a tape reel) meaning that the corruption has no effect along with not having a soul (a key ingredient for corruption). Sans is a bit more difficult but I have found that due to being a skeleton he is undead as well as he wont exactly "give up" which the corruption will tell the victim that they can't put up a fight or straight up telling them their worthless in which seeing how sans wont surrender to chara proves that. another thing is I'm pretty sure (not completely) a monsters soul is inverted so the corruption might not want to take over sans but actually kill him so he doesn't pose a threat. This shows that the uncorrupted can put up more of a fight than we expect which is why in a lot of cases pico, double d, tankman, and hell even sometimes Bf is a survivor and left to fight.

It's funny, in nightmare cuphead vs the devil by moronighteye, we can see that cuphead nightmare form represents a corrupted state, looking very familiar to the fnf corruption mod type of look.
