Shanks is build different..it is seriously crazy how he lost an arm and he wasn't bothered by it at all..he didn't even cry in pain..nothing He has some otherworldly mental strength and i also believe he is one of the strongest characters in one piece (he duels with mihawk..which is an great example on why he is that strong). He might also have some other political power or idk but he is the only yonko that can speak to the gorosei so that speaks volumes.. May he is a celestial dragon.. Shanks is the most mysterious character in anime and he is still so loved by the fandom

I think it's a pretty easy case to make with mihawk being a better swordsman, but shanks being an overall more powerful combatant. Has more skills than just his sword where mihawk doesn't

Shanks is the character whose haki was being hyped since the beginning: The first person to show haki in the story. And the only character (whose alive) whose haki was so infamous that even the Whitebeard Pirates acknowledge it. His haki is also being shown as so powerful not only in the story but, also in games.

It would be kind of elite if Shanks could make himself an arm using a combination of Conqueror's and Armament Haki. We've seen people coat their weapons in Haki, so manifesting physical objects seems like the logical evolution to that. It would bring a whole new level of legitimacy to Shanks' status as an Emperor, as that's a level of Haki control that we've never witnessed before.

the episode where shanks loses his arm may indicate hat at that point, shanks didn't know awareness haki falling for the smoke bomb or armament haki having lost his arm. in fact, having lost his arm could have been the near death moment which awakened his conquerors haki setting in motion shanks rise to become a yonko. shanks knew that the name D was important, and could be part of why shanks was nice and protective of luffy. the incident with luffy causing him to lose his arm changed shanks whole life perhaps, and you cannot deny that shanks has changed the world as a result.

I’m pretty sure that when they finally showcase Shanks abilities he’ll have some of the same mannerisms as Roger. I wouldn’t be surprised if he uses the same move that Roger did on Oden that sent him flying. It will be epic

We can all imagine that Shanks is indeed powerful. For a pirate to command such great respect from the Grousie and also from numerous other pirates and more so, the great Kaido during his fight with Luffy places Shanks amongst those who can 'give him a good fight' proves how strong he is. Also I've continued to have great respect for Haki.

what i think about the 5 elders making time for shanks is because since shanks was with gol d roger he probably knows the secrets of the world and the world government can't eliminate him like they did to those who know how to read the poneglyph so this makes me think that the 5 elders are scared that shanks can blackmail them and you know that shanks has a lot of influence and people would believe him and that can cause a riot and they can overthrow the world government
