They literally took out a chunk of his personality and he's this funny

his voice matches his personality perfectly
  • This set is brilliant. It's a shame that TJ has had so many personal issues, he really is a genius.
  • β€œI was speaking in narrative where I would sort of talk about the narrative path of the conversation before I engaged in it and then kind of hit those signposts in the conversation and usually end in a compliment...it works?”

For those who missed the punchline: It was very sophisticated, but subtle. What do comedians call it when performances go very badly? Dying on stage. When he posed the question to the doctor, everyone in the audience was expecting him to go to the dying punchline. But he didn't. Instead he drew out his own joke, and then commented about failing in comedy by drawing out the joke too long instead of cashing in (via the character of the doctor.) And then he skipped his own punchline altogether. He orchestrated a small, metaphorical death on stage, comparing that to the actual death he would have had if he hadn't had the surgery. As Daniel Chavez said, and a lot of people after him, iit was meta as fuck.

I love how he manages to craft such a crazy meta joke from such an absolutely organically told, relatable experience.

"Doctor's gone; proxy coming; we'll explain proxy later!!" - I choked on my scotch.

TJ Miller can't not be funny. His delivery would make reading the phone book entertaining.
  • @Inkredibule
He has a very Ryan Reynolds tone when he slows down and talks lower. Hilarious story πŸ‘

What a shame that he does not do much stand up anymore. He is so good and original at story telling.
  • @AnthonyChaucer
Lmao where's that paramedic guy? I'm sure he knows what's going on
  • @robinwsc

  • @zipgow
So glad TJ's okay. Hope he doesn't have to worry about regular seizures.

Had a very similar brain tumor (a cavernous malformation) same spot and also the size of a golfball. Honestly, I love this entire story! Nothing like thinking you were going a little bat shit crazy for a few months and then waking up in an ambulance with a dude saying "you just had a seizure"...literally our stories are so similar and his story helps spread awareness and laughs. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! Had mine chopped out too. Now I have just slightly more than half my frontal lobe.
  • @CullenCochran
