If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.

How I got here…

21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com/ to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.

Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).

To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.

You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.

Never quit,

Alex

  • Below is a quick summary of the key points from this insightful video: 1. Sell to rich people until you have the money to sell to all the poor people. The middle is where you get killed. 2. You lack priorities, not information. Problems are easy to solve if you know what you are after. 3. Things are hard because your team isn’t as good as you think they are. Your standards are too low. 4. Lots of rules mean you have dumb people. 5. If you want to get bigger, get better. Better leads to growth; bigger leads to bloat. 6. You work all day but you can’t get anything done because you allow too many things that don’t matter to distract you. Sometimes you have to let the fires burn. 7. A brand takes a long time to build but is the most valuable thing you can own. 8. You need to know the inputs and outputs of your money-making system, broken down to the absolute smallest action, so that you can crank the hell out of it. 9. Stop looking for hacks. 10. The best people cost more but make way more than they cost. 11. The big, obvious thing is the problem, not the hundred other things.

I’ve watched nearly all of Alex’s videos, read both of his books multiple times, and attended his in-person workshop in Vegas — this is hands down one of the most exceptional pieces of content Hormozi has made to date. Loved the short bit on the ad creation process about a third of the way through. To the person on his team analyzing the comments, please encourage him to make more of this stuff. Love the shift that has been made away from the ADHD content. Thanks, Alex. Appreciate all that you share.
  • You’re not gonna sell someone who’s wealthy in how much money you’ll save them, you’ll sell them on how much TIME you will save them
  • @SergioKrutov
"What they want is value per second, not seconds of value" – wow. This one phrase just solved lots of different issues for me. Thank you.
  • @havenamz7854
I can’t fathom the fact that we are able to receive this level of information for free. Alex the service you’re doing is unprecedented. Thank you
  • @daisyO2043
He is absolutely correct. My sales ranges from $175 to $5,000. This strategy has proven to be highly effective. With 12 years of experience, I have found that this approach allows me to prioritize customer service. Since I do not require a high volume of sales to be successful and profitable, I can concentrate on meeting the needs and preferences of high-end customers.
  • @ACLSTL
You said “I had to make enough money to be able to afford to sell to people who don’t have much” my dads voice rang in my ear and I remembered him telling me something similar and it started my journey. I had gotten lost and felt guilty for wanting to be wealthy but the truth is the wealth will help me achieve big goals to help people
  • @martinbCZ
Business owner here. Team of 10 people. Just in the process of hiring more people and thank God I've seen this video. I'd say this is the best video of its kind I have ever seen. Specific advice. Nothing vague. Also, that reminder to really question your main product was awesome. I think my product is great, but maybe that's the reason I did not think to make it better for quite some time. I did just now and there are definitely some ideas! Thank you!
  • @drjpeg
“Solve rich people problems, they pay better” 💯
  • You could pay thousands for a business course and not get anywhere near the amount of useful wisdom contained in this 90 minute video. Incredible. Exemplifying business truth No. 5. Alex is preaching what he is practising.
  • Retired...have side gig...no product to sell...and making more $$$ now than when i worked full time...finally got this $$ thing figured out at 62yrs old...incredible and blessed
  • @lazerusmfh
First time I heard about you. I’m an entrepreneur doing about 2M a year with 3 employees. Your words are gold. Thank you. My life is changed today
  • @stephenking9305
What a time to live in, this guy is a fucking legend. I can tell you this is the sort of stuff you won’t get to learn even from MBAs where you are spending thousands of dollars on outdated concepts and learn from professors who have only studied marketing but never run business in their lives. I am stunned that he is sharing this material for free.
  • @fvmn
This is an absolute powerhouse of value, literally showing what he‘s preaching in the video. If there was ever a video to recommend to everyone to watch, its this one. Honestly unreal to see content of this magnitude for free for everyone to watch and alex being able to operate and grow his personal business at the rate he‘s growing whilst creating content at such a high level simultaneously.
  • This really is one of the best videos Hormozi has made. I have a Bachelors of Commerce, more actionable advice here than I got out of 90% of my classes
  • @rjhoff925
26 in Los Angeles building my business. Every Sunday morning I make the commute to San Diego and back for this business and this video drop could not be at a better time as I start another drive. If you’re in the lonely chapter of business building, you’re not alone
  • @snooopy85
Usually I speed people up. This guys you have to listen at .75x speed.
  • Hey Alex, that YouTube video you shared yesterday, discussing 13 years of experience, completely blew me away. It's the kind of content that should be integrated into school curriculums. The 90 minutes were packed with so much wisdom; I found myself pausing frequently just to absorb and reflect. Truly a masterclass in every sense.
