God damn, I didn't think I would have to write this. Yes, there's similarities between BOTW and Genshin. But I also know that the game was inspired and BOTW isn't the gold standard for open worlds. There's a lot of similar themes, so I thought it would be a good idea to make some jokes. Let a guy poke fun. A lot of this was overplayed for laughs and I enjoy Genshin off-stream a lot (AR 33 as of writing this, running Razor Fischl Mona Venti). This isn't a call out--I have fun with both games and wanted to make a funny video. That's it. Don't look too far into it.

“My sister was kidnapped by rectangles” best description

"If there's water around, opponents may become wet" Every 60 seconds in Africa, a minute passes

I remember playing Genshin after playing botw for 2 years straight and the first thing I remember was “Hallelujah rain doesnt affect climbing”

Me, an AR 55 Genshin player, clicking on this video: "Yeah yeah everyone thought that it was a copycat but they were wrong" Me, while watching the entire tutorial section: "OK MAYBE..."

When I tried typing in Paimon, spell check corrected it to Pain. Ah yes, it's what we all feel for this character.

Coming from someone who played through this whole game: at first it’s scary how close it is to Breath Of The Wild, but it gets better and less like a clone

Watching this now made me realize how close some things in Monstadt's story was to breath of the wild, but then I remember that the story continues to Liyue's side and then Inazuma's and hopefully Sumeru's soon.

If he thinks Kaeya is edgy then I dunno what Xiao is anymore

I can’t wait until he finds out that Diluc’s English voice actor is also Revali’s English voice actor.

“If there is water around opponents may get wet” “If you eat some food you will get more full”

Amber: "You breezed through it! I knew you'd be fine!" Aether: ded
  • Crow: tries to speak Paimon: "Yeah, no." Crow: patiently waits and starts to speak Pavi: "Yeah, no, enough of that" Crow: angrily waits before speaking again Navi: "Hey, listen!"
  • “Alright, big bad guy destroy world a hundred years ago, go beat him up.” Best summary of Botw I’ve ever heard.

As a Genshin player, I felt the exact same way starting out, but it gets better and gains its own voice the further away from the start that you get- the current plotline in Sumeru has very little resemblance to anything in BotW (other than ancient advanced civilizations, but then that's a common trope).

I love both games so much, and at first I started playing because it seemed similar, but the longer you play, the less and less it actually feels like a botw clone It starts to become it's own thing which I really love, and now that it's been 2 years since this video, it's really doing it's own thing Also the word "Anemo" comes from the name of the god Anemoi, which of course was a god of wind Just like Dendro is the Greek word for "tree" if I remember right
  • @CentzoGames
Haters: it's a clone and Nintendo should sue them! Nintendo: I want some of that sh1t on my Switch hell yeah
  • @LordOfChkns
Watching this video I realized the beginning of genshin is very similar to botw but as you progress further it does a full 180 and becomes drastically different with new mechanics and features
