Georgia Tech never "fell off" under Paul Johnson, his last 5 years at Georgia Tech was 11-3, 3-9, 9-4, 5-6, and 7-6. Pretty much stable like his tenure at Georgia Tech. Calvin Johnson came to Georgia Tech as a quarterback to run the Flexbone option and moved to wide receiver and had two seasons of catching over 800 yards and one season with over 1,000 yards. Alvin Wyatt Sr. came to Bethune-Cookman and implemented the Flexbone option modeled after the Georgia Southern Flexbone option. Before Wyatt Sr. was named Head Coach at Bethune-Cookman, B-CU went 5-6, 3-8, and 2-9 before he was named B-CU Head Football Coach. And Bethune-Cookman hadn't had a winning season in something like 10 years. Wyatt used the Flexbone option to bring Bethune-Cookman to 8 straight winning seasons, 2 1-AA Playoff appearances, and a Heritage Bowl appearance. Many schools don't run the Flexbone option because many coaches don't know how to coach it, so they use they propaganda talking points to sell their bs excuses blah blah blah the new rules, we can't get the athletes, and the other useless excuses.

FAMU not being in the Top 25 is understandable, they beat no team of any consequence all season long. Played no ranked team all of 2023. Beat only 3 teams, Jackson State, Southern, and Alabama State that ended their seasons with winning records, out of 13 games. That just isn't good. On top of that, the SWAC is WEAK and their schools play and beat no one out of conference of any significance. FAMU strength of schedule, in 2024, against FCS level schools, out of conference, are against two schools that had losing records in 2023, Norfolk and South Carolina State, that just isn't good enough. Plus FAMU lost their Head Coach, their quarterback, and their top receivers, it's just not a worthy of being ranked.

I said it in the chat but I will say it here too. FAMU and NCCU both deserve to be in the preseason top 25 period. FAMU is the CB winner‼️ NCCU has a proven coaching staff regardless if they do not have a returning qb. If you can consider Elon, you shouldn’t have second thoughts about NCCU.
