For your external drive you may find exfat is a better solution for cross compatibility between Mac/Linux/Windows

Honestly, if you're coming over from Mac OS, I would highly recommend Pop OS over Linux Mint. More specifically, the Gnome desktop over Cinnamon. Gnome is far more comparable to the Mac desktop environment, and based on the type of customizations you're trying, this would make more sense as it would require far less effort.

I like the look of your desktop and making the bottom bar transparent so it looks like a dock is genius. I struggeled with some dock applications and never really liked any of them. Also i dont like the look of adwaita cursor so i usualy install breeze-cursor-theme and use it instead.

iirc, the ntfs-3g FUSE driver can be installed on macOS too, to overcome that stupid read-only limitation.

Audio volumes need work to quiet at the moment your 19 db down on volume.
