IN CASE YOU MISHEARD ONLY THE COMPASS NEEDS TO BE FROM THE END. You can craft it the block while in any dimension, you just need the COMPASS to be from the right one! I think I worded it clearly in the video but many people misheard, so I'm making it clear.

plot twist, mojang wont add it because it is dangerous to shulkers in real life

I actually REALLY agree with this idea, using a teleport feature in a dimension of teleporting mobs and finishing the intentional game design trio sounds extremely fitting

This guy is a genius in game design. He pointed out the flaw with netherite. I love it.

This feels so well thought out. I could really see it as an actual feature in minecraft. It feels balanced, unique, and serves a real purpose.

The core issue is that the End is a fundamentally flawed dimension. It was intended to just have a "final boss" and everything else was added in response to player demand without even attempting to make it a "real" dimension.

one small note: if this were to be implemented in a mod or in vanilla (same thing in practice), it would be easier to make you craft an unloaded version (as in without a compass), then load it with a compass with a right-click and then charge it with end crystals. the current crafting system doesnt really work with nbt data as far as i know

On the early versions of the unofficial Minecraft oculus quest port, the loadstone was incredibly useful, because there was no way to type or access coordinates. And with the low render distance due to the lack of processing power from the quest, you needed loadstones, or keep inventory if you wanted to explore.

The warping actually fits thematically, since endermen also warp/teleport around

The thing that sold me on this was the “Trinity of Intentional Game Design,” we have special mechanics for the Overworld and Nether, so an End mechanic is certainly in order :3

Also having a game rule that can allow ender relays in other dimensions would make it easier to use them in maps, creative builds etc, and wouldn't hurt any survival players

If this were added I think it would be great if you could see the warp coordinates with F3. If you were afraid of a trap or wanted to track someone's escape, you could just click F3 and see the cords somewhere in the screen full of data.
  • I like that your implementation does give it a nice way to distinguish it from the other two and really fits into the theme of the end. In general the end is in need of an update and this would be a great part of it. Mojang even said they would have to fix the current dimensions before adding a new one, so I suppose that in one of the next few updates we'll get an end update and this would be quite useful in it. And I think that some variation of this was already planned, just judging by the fact that it wouldn't make sense for the soul anchor to not work in the end otherwise, which I learned the hard way.

This has to be one of the single best and most fool-proof fan suggestions I've EVER seen. It'd fit spectacularly in the vanilla base game and wouldn't feel modded AT ALL in my opinion, specifically because it'd work in the quirky teleport dimension and the quirky teleport dimension alone. I'm a huge fan of this, make a petition for this to get added in or something, I'd sign it.
  • This honestly is great! doesnt feel like heavyly modded, or too.... you know what I mean. THis block sounds like it would really belong to minecraft. I´ve played the game for jears now, and I hobe this gets adden :D

There are a few issues with this idea. Although I like the concept, it ultimately is only patchwork to the real problem, which being that the end ultimately is only a looting dimension. It has so much potential, and yet it hasn't been updated in almost 8 years. And although minor there are some exploitable quirks with this block. The first that pops into my head is the potential for easy void trading.

I would love for the End to not be a fully fledged dimension, but rather a giant dungeon dimension. Keep it looking at a similar vibe, but make it filled to the brim with far more varied loot and different types of structures. Add more blocks and scenery objects, more ender mobs. With the end relay, it’s almost like saving your progress in the dungeon. The dragon island is still the same. The dragon has made it devoid of everything except the pillars and the endstone they reside on. But once you kill it and make it to the end islands, you are in the “dungeon”. As you get father, you’ll want to save your spot because you don’t wanna go through it all again, so you use an end relay. You can build in these new End islands, but it wouldn’t be encouraged. It’s not like the Nether where you can actually reasonably thrive is you spawned in there, there’s not a proper tree block and getting too good loot is impossible without some decent gear. And growing your own plants like trees and grass would be made impossible in the end because there is no sunlight. You could even treat the End Islands like a roguelite game, giving yourself like a stone sword and seeing how far you can go as you get better and better loot until you die and have to entirely restart
  • @SnoFitzroy
I only recently learned that the new nether respawn block actually kills you in the end (saw a speedrun that used it on the dragon) and honestly I think the idea of completing the "[Intentional Game Design] Triangle" is so cool and obvious that it's a little weird we don't have this yet! Maybe if we get a proper End Overhaul Update we'll see something like this??
  • @areadenial2343
Awesome! I'd suggest giving the relay an animated end crystal floating above it when one is inserted, and a short animation casting a beam of light towards the teleport destination when activated. Along with lodestone compasses, a regular compass could be used to teleport to the obsidian spawning platform on the main island!
  • @RukaDesu
it's a cool idea... but I think the problems with the end go FAR DEEPER than just lack of mobility... I feel the end is in need of a total rework similar to the nether update! exploration would be less boring if it wasn't a wasteland of NOTHING without anything useful and the same structures over and over again, with barely anything of use other than elytras...
