I loved my HP envy convertible, i wanted to get a very good laptop that would last me the duration of my university years. It cost me nearly 1000€, and then after almost 2 years of use one of the hinges caused the screen to come off from one of the sides. I contacted HP and the told me they could replace the screen for over 500€ because I didn't pay extra for the guarantee. I ended up getting a fairly "cheap" laptop for the time being because this happened literally 2 weeks before finals. So do I recommend HP? Never, did I absolutely adore that laptop when I had it? Yes I do.

Dose its hinges live to its specs? (or just detached from the screen like the Envy thing)

If you are recommending any product for students then think about its price first......
