How much did it cost to build our Honda k24A2 K-Swap NC Mazda MX-5 Miata? We total up the cost build and also answer a bunch of other questions including why we didn't do a Mazda 2.5L engine swap or V8 swap. Or why we simply didn't buy a Honda S2000.

  • Whatever it cost it was worth it. What a perfect NC ❤ Edit: I spoke too soon
  • @syygnis
At the end of the day everyone knows that building cars and engine conversions are expensive. I'm currently building a K24 E30 in Australia with Kpower kit keen as for it to arrive
  • @waltwalton8106
Former FRS owner (victim) would love to see K swapped 86
  • @Hunac-Ceel
Would love to see a K-swap FRS in the future 🙏 thanks for being so transparent about the costs.
  • I found a hidden track car gem a while back: I picked up an E82 2008 BMW 128i 6MT w/sport package for $4700. With a junkyard 3-stage intake manifold, OEM Euro intake & a tune the car put down an extra 27whp & 32wtq over stock in a car that only weighs a touch over 3000 lbs with a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The N52 is reliable as an anvil and replacements are only about $1000. It’s a car that’s been doing very well in a few time attack classes that a lot of people overlook.
  • @future62
People dinged me in a last video for saying this is not a budget build lol. This car is great but $40K is like C7 GS/F80 M3/987 Cayman S money.
  • @TomStp
You should do a comparative on track vs an NC with a 2.5 to see the difference between the 2 swap, you could even throw in a FI car to add up, it would make for a very interesting show down i'm sure!
  • @mrmooney25
$40k seems insane but that’s racing. For me at that price a Lotus sounds like a good choice.
  • @8r334
Thanks for the video gents! Your efforts are appreciated.
  • @UngluckInc
Most car people can't fathom spending real money on a serious car build, it isn't immediate enough clout today lol. Serious shit is done by serious people. Car is def a blast and a weapon.
  • @jonyrho
In the grand scheme of things, 40k is not that bad at all for well sorted track car. If the BADASS2000 was redone in today's market, it would likely go a healthy amount past that number due to starting base car price and that's coming from an S2000 owner. This makes the gears start turning for relatively affordable track car options...
  • @N3rdburgring
To this day it’s still such a distraction hearing “K-2-4” instead of “K-24”
  • @daniell4711
You both hit the nail on the head about driving something you're enthusiastic about. Yes, it's C5 money, but I personally can't get enthusiastic about them. Kswap all the things!
  • Thank you guys for showing us these numbers, so many YouTube channels don't want to divulge such information.
  • @Wandrew6691
Wild cause I beat the crap out of my 2.5 swapped nc and it’s now supercharged, years of track days etc etc and it’s still going strong.
  • @jasonlillis3437
The 2.5 might not have the same feel as a k24 but it's $700 plus cams and a weekend's worth of work. There is a whole racing series where they use sealed 2.0s without issue not to mention all of the weekend track guys running 2.0 and 2.5's. cool build though.
  • @Beezy_Builds
Definitely saw that 40k price tag coming in for a complete build, have that into my kswapped EG
  • @IamTheOppressor
I'd love to see some stuff about J-swapping an NC. It's becoming more popular on the earlier cars but I think it suits the slightly bigger NC well.
  • @c0c0asauce
The swap kits are great for people who don't fabricate but they permanently are out of my price range. If I wanted to build a cheap track car I would probably start with an Ford SN95, GM F body, or Mitsu Mirage for the fwd boyz.
