47 went from looking like a paper mache mask in the first couple of games, to looking like aging Voldemort in Absolution, to being a photo model level handsome in the latest trilogy. Now that's character development.

Anything with a series that has lore to be compiled and explained, please don't hesitate to make these videos even if they aren't horror based. These kinds of content are amazing to watch.
  • I absolutely adore the damsel in distress that is Agent Smith. He's one of my favourite running jokes in a game series.
  • What I like most is the voice actor for 47, he has never changed and its like an iconic protagonists voice like max payne or even Duke nukem, lucas grey also had an awesome voice, I just wish we had more moving cutscenes with him
  • @loomenate
It took me up until now to realize how well written Hitman series actually are. Amazing stuff
  • @Kleavers
The voice actors of World of Assassination are impeccable. Grey, Burnwood, Edwards and 47 of course are just fantastic.
  • @combatdentist
Seeing 47´s emotional side disappear through the games is flawless. IOI really managed to pull of a incredibly hard task, that is making a TRILOGY of a game series that had essentially been ended.

I like how 47 is one of the few characters where in the case of "two boys who became something like brothers after growing up together but one of them believes violence gets things done quicker and cleaner", 47 is the violent one. There's not many stories where the violent one is the protagonist.
  • Thank goodness you've made this. I've always liked these games but never completely followed the story
  • I like that Arthur was more scared of losing who is than actually dying. In a way it is like dying without actually dying, like killing someone's soul but their body still lives. If you kill him, he dies having everything, being at his highest point in life, but injecting him ends up with him living the rest of his life at his lowest point having nothing. The assassin shows there are fates worse than death.

So sad Subject 6's story in this franchise was so short. He was the only friend of 47, Diana is as well, but she's different... she didn't go through the same torture.

i grew up playing hitman games i have a special fondness for the whole series and oh my god that hitman 2 ending scene "untouchable" where its revealed that 47 killed diana's family have stuck with me over the years i still go back to it from time to time. such a great series and thank you for making me relive it again

26:54 [CODENAME 47] is one of the most tragic characters of gaming. He's a professional, the best of the best in this world. He was literally designed to kill. As such, he can never really retire as a Silent Assassin and start a new life without endangering the normal people he's close to. Father Vittorio is the proof of that fact and Agent 47 has no choice but to accept that fate. So rather than endanger his friend any longer, 47 gave up on trying to find Absolution and sticks to what he's good at. Assasinations. Contracts. And Blood Money...
  • @bazanime
It's fun seeing how game graphics evolved over the years for cutscenes and ingame. Thanks for the video, good work.

Damn thats crazy i didnt know 47 had an opiate addiction. Having struggled with it a long time myself due to chronic backpain thats super relatable. His discription of the withdrawals is spot on too i get the exact same symptoms the vivid nightmares and anxiety are the worst part honestly i can deal with physical pain but mental pain and distress is fucked. I can totally see why 47 would have a very hard time getting clean especially when you've had a super traumatic life on top of pain that needs killing. Thats literally the exact situation im in, its so wierd I've played hitman my whole life and always felt such a deep connection with 47. Finding out we share the same addiction to deal with our pain and trauma just makes so much sense its a trip to think about. This reminds me of a quote from a interview with 47's voice actor David Bateson where he basically was saying 47 started off as a fictional emotionless programed killing machine but over the years through the shared experiences and soul of everyone who has ever worked on 47, played the game, lived in his shoes, and became 47 he has become real. He is the sum of everyone whos lives he has been a part of. Hes full of humanity, thought, belief, soul, and emotion. 47 is as much a part of us as we are a part of him. He is more than any one person he is an immortal entity of collective consciousness. Love to anyone who reads this, Happy Hunting. Amazing video btw top notch
  • @ZergrushEddie
REALLY appreciate the mission cut to the Hitman 2016 cinematic. I barely played any Hitman pre-WoA so it was so damn cool to see that the cinematic were referencing previous lore. :) Also, I just love Arthur Edwards last play: "Why not erase your memory and become a thoughtless killing machine?" "No." "Well, I'm out of ideas..."
  • - over hour long video - favourite storyteller - one of my favourite stories - one of my favourite games BEST VIDEO EVER. Thank you Harry
  • @RiKSh4w
Very timely, as very soon the "Freelancer" mode of Hitman 3 will be coming out and I believe it's simply Diana and 47 working together as a freelance assassin pair after the ICA was again dismantled.
  • @BroMan
This always makes you wonder how many other clones are still in the wild, that escaped the Asylum. Silent Assassin was my introduction to the series. Since then I've been HOOKED! My absolute favorite game series, makes you think on how to proceed to reach your targets, etc etc. I loved that newspaper bit they did in Blood Money too.
  • I cant believe this was almost 2 hours of intense lore I just watched without noticing how much time has passed good job
