  • Keep the chunks of silicone from failed molds, and use that to bulk out future molds so you don't use as much. :)
  • This is the best anti-recasting video I've ever seen... I hope GW reward you with mountains of plastic 😂
  • Great video thank you, whenever I think I can make terrain with silicone moulds I will watch this video.
  • @snowy5628
The roof and hot glue fiasco had me rolling 😂
  • This was so entertaining lol... in the end it looks awesome!
  • @4lvarro
I just loved how quickly everything went wrong! hahahah. Glad that at least we all learnt a lesson here! Thanks for that! :D
  • I've done a lot of recasting like this and I would recommend simply filling the entire tower with clay. The clay is cheap, and you can reuse it later for other projects. Also, building the mold boxes out of foamcore is good, but so are Lego bricks. I have a bucket of Lego and Lego knock off bricks I bought cheap that I use for this stuff.
  • A really good concept, thanks for sharing. And thanks for the lessons learned
  • When u have complex/hollow pices to cast, fill the mould box with water first, to see if there are leaks.
  • Such a cool idea! The board is starting to look awesome too mate 👏
  • Awesome stuff mate! Love your videos and I am so keen to see more of this board
  • @realwords4713
Great video! Did make me laugh watching all the pitfalls along the way, but you overcame and the final board looked amazing in your other video 🙌🏼 love all the cost saving aspects as-well as naturally not everyone can create the massive boards that we all aspire to build! Thank you and keep up the good work!
  • I'm ashamed to say that first pour had me in fits. Only just stopped uncontrollably crying 🤣 But the result was worth it, dude. Looking ace!
  • That second silicone pour was nerve racking stuff! The board is looking class.

Nice job! I will always be a fan of getting the max amount of use out of those expensive plastic kits. A tip for plaster: You can coat it using poliurethane resin, the one you get in A and B components and is mix 50/50. The dry plaster is porous, and will absorb the resin, which will then cure from the inside of the plaster. Every porous material can ge given this treatment, like carboard or wood. Thanks for showing your mistakes too, it helps a lot.

Great vid mate! Looking forward to seeing the next one on the south gondor table!
  • @Mryoker91
Wow the end shot of the board looks really nice! Must be awesome to play a game on when finished!
  • @Neves1789
Nice work mate! Some good lessons for my own recasting attempts!
