Can I beat Pokémon Black 2 on Challenge Mode with only Steel Types using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules?
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Steel Type Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause); This includes Pokémon that evolve INTO Steel types, but does NOT include non-Steel Pokémon that evolved from Steel types!
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

That Challenge Mode experiment was really interesting! It means that it’s inherently easier since the level caps are higher, which means Elesa (and Clay) could have been harder without Excadrill. Nevertheless, it was cool to see Escavalier put in work in a hardcore nuzlocke! Volcarona best Gen V Bug though; fantastic design and phenomenal stats.

I've never played challenge mode in B2W2. I had NO clue Iris's Pokémon were that nerfed. Dang. Still, a great run, and we learned something! Also, the rectangle segue was 10/10.

An idea for fixing the challenge mode issue: use the standard mode level cap. That way you can fight the buffed move sets, items and more interesting teams while still having comparable stats

To answer the daily question, while Gen 5 made some fantastic bug types across the board, it's pretty obvious that Joltik is the best one. The little guy is just too cute ^~^

While I'm big fans of Galvantula and Volcarona for the cool designs and how great they are, I'm partial towards Leavanny. The design is cool and the entire line is just so darn adorable. Shame that Bug/Grass is such a hamper. I would've loved to have it in SwSh tbh.

honestly i think with this knowledge, doing bw2 nuzlockes with normal mode caps in challenge mode MIGHT be the wave. also to answer the qotd, galvantula. despite being deathly afraid of spiders i absolutely love this thing

The bug type in Gen 5 is probably the best single type in any generation. Bangers from top to bottom.
